It's a crappy design, and I think Yamaha should pay to fix it. That said, although It's a good-will issue, and a moral issue, and an issue about which Yamaha should be stand-up, it is NOT a warranty issue.Well "20Valves" , imagine being on the side of the road in the middle of night or out in Utah in the heat on the side of the road, and trying to get the the main fuse or dead battery. ever been either ? are you sure you had a early 2013 Upper cowl ?
If it takes a Yamaha Tech at the dealer 15-20 mins to get to it in a nice shop , that's a issue I wanted resolved.
What if you had just purchased a new auto and it took 20 min's and daylight to get to the fuses or battery ? would you be happy ?
Cutting up the original part is not as good as the new design.
I purchased a new bike with a warranty so I would not have to work on it.
I think Apples and Oranges. This was a mid-year change to fix something that was an obvious oversight on the initial design. Is Yamaha obligated to fix it. Nope - its not safety related issue. Should they - yeah - It's the right thing to do.Sooo...anytime a manufacturer comes up with a better design, they should issue a recall and incorporate that design in all previous models for free? That would be cool!
I have a dishwasher that for the most part is great. However, the silverware rack has a minor, frustrating flaw that I wish they would redesign and offer to sell to me as an upgrade. To expect them to give it to me for free would be completely unreasonable, IMHO.
I've considered that question once or twice (you might also ask "why up so high?"). In the end, being the trusting sort that I am I conclude that the Yammy engineers must have had some good reason. Maybe it's positioned to the right to counterbalance something else (maybe the COG of the engine isn't dead-centre or something like that)?2. WTF do you want that heavy of an item way of axis like that?
So THAT'S why there are no motorcycles parked outside a shrink's office - their patients couldn't get their batteries charged up! ;-)Unless you have a early 2013, that was not used for a few months and you needed to charge or get to the battery, and could not.and then wait over a month to get the part and have it fixed, you just are not feeling my mental state at the time. I am now
recovered without to much therapy at my favorite behavioral Psych office.
At $16K+ I hope your dishwashers can do 0-60 in about 3 seconds flat...If'n you had purchased two $16,000 + dishwashers from the same vendor, you might maybe have wanted them to be nice andfix the issue , and to keep you buying their dishwashers.
I completely agree, it'd be the right thing to do, but still not a warranty issue. Unfortunately we live in a world that is profit driven, not necessarily based on what's right or wrong.I think Apples and Oranges. This was a mid-year change to fix something that was an obvious oversight on the initial design. Is Yamaha obligated to fix it. Nope - its not safety related issue. Should they - yeah - It's the right thing to do.
