Just curious if you guys have had any problems with the Yami warranty if you have done alot of Farkling on the bike yourself. With any luck I will be getting an '06 sometime within the next couple of months and intend on making the necessary modifications but I also don't want to hear from the dealer that I have jeopardized the Warranty in any way because I didn't use OEM parts or factory authorized service. Bad past experience tells me to ask the question before they have the opportunity to decline coverage.

I have the same concern, which is why I'm holding off on the HID's and cruise control until after the noisey motor issue gets straightened out. Anybody have any major work done on their motor under warranty with a PCIII installed? Or header and no cats?

I would be inclined to think that the PCIII, and headers would lead to questions by the dealer. Add-ons such as cans, Powerlet, power strips shouldn't have bearing...

By federal law a warranty claim can only be denied if the dealer/manufacturer can prove that the non-OEM part caused the failure.

In other words, if you have a Holeshot header and cans, PCIII and Nitrous, they can't deny a warranty claim for a bent frame or forks.

Well, maybe with nitrous, butt you get my drift.

Search for the Magnusson-Moss Act for details.

That said, your dealer is the most effective tool you have in any warranty negotiations. If you keep them on your side, a lot can get done in a hurry. If, on the other hand, you regularly pee in their post toasties, they can make it an arduous process at best.
