I only have a year from date bike was originally purchased to get YES, right? Me thinks its possibly too late. I've had the bike 11 months, and I don't know how long previous owner had it...

You can call yamaha custimer service off their website. they'll be happy to tell you the "in service" date, and if previous owner neglected to tell you he bought the plan already ( you may have bought bike from stealer who got it as a trade-in). Have vin # ready when calling
