I know this may sound like a stupid question: any tips for washing this bike? I've always had cruiser or standard bikes so they didn't have much bodywork. The FJR is nothing but bodywork. Lots of little cracks and crevices. So what's the best way to clean her up? :scooter:

Don't ger her dirty in the first place....lol....For me I get her wet ( no pun intended) then spray her with S100, apply a little friction then rinse! Damn why does that sound sexual? Sorry my mind must be in the gutter today...................... :innocent:

Sorry, but as a dirty biker, I have to say 'ride in the rain?'
Lot's of discussion around cleaning techniques, I use a good quality car washing liquid, no high press washes, followed by Honda spray clean and wax. Of course the last time I did that was, well, let me think.....

Howie! Stop it! Do you think today is Friday or sumting? Oh, it is. Flame on Howie, flame on!

Ghey!!!

(It's Friday, isn't it???) :p

The actual and correct answer is spray it, soap it, wash it, etc, just like you do anything. Just don't use a really high-pressure sprayer which could force water into places it otherwise would not be able to reach, like the ECU, the windshield drive, various relays and stuff.

The bike can get wet, that doesn't hurt it. Getting water where it normally can't get might do weird things. I had a relay fill with water and lock the horn on a couple of years ago. :)

EDIT: Damn!!! 3 posts while I was typing!!!!!!!?????!?!? I thought I'd get to be first with the "ghey." Shit!

Some things that have worked well for me:

Maguire's Car Wash. ( Don't use dishwashing liquid )

Mr Clean wash attachment with ionized rinse. ( helps keep dust off bike )

Electric leaf blower for drying. ( prevents spots )

Sham-wow for detailing ( no lint )

Thunderstorms seem to work pretty good for me...

I concur... a clean bike is a ghey bike..

Ride the fuk outa the bitch and wash her, just before you sell the bitch. ;)
