Jim, you keep posting ride reports like that and you'll be the first one I'll blame when it gets too crowded. Next thing you know all those other douches will wanna live here.

Hey everybody don't live here. The weather sucks. The rain ends during the second week of July and starts again right after Labor Day. And if you live just east of the Cascades, like Wenatchee, it is sometimes sunnier, unless there is a forest fire in the Cascades, then you get smoke for 4 or 5 weeks or until the fire is out. Don't come, just visit.

Here is a photo of Wenatchee in October 2012. This was the smoke on the water ride. Looks like Los Angeles......

Living in Washington sucks.

I know it gets beautiful up there - I've seen enough pictures. But my luck must be rotten. Makes sense though - my work requires me to stay close to home July through September. My timing must be off.

Great story - the first time I went up there, by bro took me to the fish market downtown. It was early in the morning and I was not fully awake - IIRC, we drank a good bit of his bathtub beer the night before. Of course one of the problems with my brother's bathtub beer is that you usually don't remember much of anything correctly! Anyhoo - something caught my attention in the corner of my eye and as I raised my head, a 10 pound salmon came flying across my face not more than 1" from my nose!! I wasn't prepared for that and I don't think I'll ever forget it.
