A typical speeding ticket is going to cost you $124, beginning in late July.
The fine, which had been $101 as recently as last month, is going up in two stages, thanks to the Washington Supreme Court and the Legislature......full article
There's a variety of points in the article that my 10 foot pole isn't sufficiently long enough to poke....but thought I'd share since I know a variety of FJR riders have found themselves on the debit side of a citation. It also includes an interesting sidebar showing how a ticket is divvied up to different programs and agencies.

Take a look here:

--$5 for a new computer system

--$10 for an auto theft program

--$7 to support the uninsured...

This is a perfect example of supporting programs by dipping the bucket anywhere. The states always get their money, albeit income taxes or other "fees". --sigh--

Well here in LA-LA land its "No more than $250.00 + Fees + Assessment" Plus an additional charge if you want to go to traffic school!

My last ticket was in the mid 90's in Shasta, CA and I don't remember the $$ but the one before that was in the late 80's or early 90's and was $364.00 plus a fee of about $85.00 to take traffic school plus the cost of traffic school for doing 70 on a 55! I guess they have to pay for the free services for the illegals some how!
