I bet a horse hurts more than a deer…
A 71-year-old man driving a Harley-Davidson™ motorcycle collided with a horse-drawn cart and its 10-year-old driver Monday on Missouri Route F about two miles east of Jamesport.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol indicated that the motorcyclist, William D. Sutton of Chillicothe, Mo., sustained moderate injuries and was flown by helicopter to Research Medical Center in Kansas City.
The accident occurred when a horse pulling a cart, driven by 10-year-old Solomon J. Schmucker, became spooked by the loud exhaust on the 2002 Harley-Davidson™ motorcycle driven by Mr. Sutton and pulled the cart into the path of the Harley-Davidson™ motorcycle. The driver of the cart and its two passengers were ejected but were un-injured.
I thought the “V-Twin thunder” was supposed to send animals scurrying and running for their very lives. In this case, it looks like “Loud Pipes Cause More Than Hearing Damage.”
