OK confession. I have already posted these pictures in the racing section on the end of another thread. At the risk of a week in the dungeon I am posting them again here as I doubt that most will bother looking in the racing section.

It was suggested that I post these on here by another member who's name I will never divulge under the worst torture, so you are safe Jill. (To be honest I don't think she knew I had already posted them in the racing section thus proving my opening plea for clemency.

It was a badly judged weekend away to Brands Hatch to watch some racing. We rode down in heavy sleet, snow and hail. We stayed overnight in a hotel about 20 miles from the circuit and woke to 2 inches of snow. We rode to the circuit to find it had been even heavier there and was still snowing havily. Needless to say the racing was cancelled and after a brief wander round the paddock seeing friends we went back to the hotel and had lunch followed by a freezing ride home, (a day earlier than planned). It snowed and hailed and sleeted again all the way with the very ocasional blue sky interlude. The temperatures were even colder and we had to stop 3 times to recover feeling in various extremeties. Almost 500 miles round trip including the to-ing and fro-ing to the circuit.

Sunday morning outside the hotel.

We skipped breakfast and went straight to the circuit. The falling snow let up on the way (20 minute ride), but the circuit had more than us during the night.

A lot of folks were packing up when we arrived at about 9am. It was pretty obvious that there would be no racing, but the organisers didn't announce it until 11.45.

These characters stayed until the announcement.......got me beat

I live in Oregon City,Oregon and I don't ride in the rain. I guess that I will have to give my riding a whole new outlook. I have been waiting for the "GOOD WEATHER" and then I see that I have BEEN IN THE GOOD WEATHER for along time. I guess that after 25 yrs. of riding that I need to change my climate. I love that you guys have that riding expierience.

8 photos like that = 8 good reasons to move to California. I rode my bike to work and back today then I went for a run by the beach after dinner, in t-shirt and shorts.

And I don't need mudguards on my bicycle either! :)

BTW, you score big points for having what it takes, to ride your bike in weather like that. No Candy Butt Association membership for you.

You live in Oregon and don't ride in the rain?

Doesn't that mean that you only get to ride 2 or 3 days a year?

;)
