from 7/1 to 7/3 we were in Fort Ross, California. About 160 miles one way.

Anyone know what kind of flower this is?

Your pics are always the best. I hate you  But seriously, how do you get such detail in the limited space they give us? My photobucket always crops my pics.

I've been to Ft. Ross, it's a nice ride. Did you take Hwy 116 thru Guernville? What a great ride!

Thanks for the pics!

Ah,

A Forrest Rat having sweet dreams about jumping out in front of a bike! :trinibob: :trinibob: :trinibob: :trinibob: :trinibob: :trinibob: :trinibob: :trinibob: :trinibob: :trinibob: :trinibob: :trinibob: :trinibob: :trinibob: :trinibob: :trinibob: :trinibob: :trinibob: :trinibob: :trinibob:

Um, didn't we smoke that on the last ride?

As usual, excellent photography, jg!

HA HA!!! I took the first three pics in the thread! :yahoo:

The way we do it:

We spent the big bucks and have the larger image size capability in photobucket.

Then we use Photoshop to resize the pics to 33% of their original size before we upload to photobucket, thereby not using their algorythms for reduction. Photoshop reduction is better.

Sherri (joyfulgirl) wrote a batch command for the resizing so that happens pretty quick.

There...still hate us? :)

NIce people do nice things nice people great things keep up the good work both of you.

that means more and more "PICS" :)

Correction that should read: nice people do nice things, nice people are gereat people keep up the good work, that means both of you.

That means more and more "PICS"

Note : got to proof read better weekend rider

ding ding ding! Thanks Kaitsdad!

I was starting to think TWN was right about smoking it ;)

Per WeekendRider's request, here are some more photos:

116 between 12 and Petaluma:

116 again, and a nice little pad...I think I want a ranch

DSC05216.jpg

I love all the old barns, and this one is perhaps a little too ignored

On Bodega Road, you can tell you are getting clsoe to the coast when you see a fog bank over the hills

DSC05219.jpg

Ahh...the coast, and cool weather. It was so nice to ride into air that made me consider putting my liner in my jacket after coming from 100 degree temperatures!

The Russian River, coming down CA-1 from Goat Rock Beach.

DSC05230.jpg

In this photo we are just around the corner from Jenner. This is the Russian River going out to sea. The rocks standing in the distance are in the Pacific.

DSC05234.jpg

This seems like a neat picture to me. This is after climbing a few switchbacks on CA-1. Notice the highway below our level, then again going across the hill on the other side of the beach.

A shot of the view from where that deer was laying

DSC05269.jpg

Sherri found a rock to sit on to enjoy the evening sun, the fresh breeze coming up the hill from the ocean, and where sunshine on her shoulders...made her happy.

DSC05271.jpg

In one direction the view was the ocean, in the other it was of dense forrest.

DSC05272.jpg

Another type of flower.

DSC05276.jpg

Typical CA-1 type of fun on this stretch.

Highway 12 North of and approaching Glenn Ellen and Sonoma

O'vale, next time you're in that area of the coast there's a fantastic road that goes between Stewarts Point and Healdsberg. The raod's not on most maps but it's hard to miss since Stewarts Point consists of a big old slate blue barn with a Chevron station. The road goes inland from right there. I'd top off at the Chevron, my buddy's GL1800 barely made it to Healdsberg. Very narrow road with no center line most of the way, overgrown in a lot of places, really beautiful. Not too many roads you can go thru a tank of gas on and not see a single other vehicle...

I know that area. There is a two story house/business up on blocks as though they are read to move it somewhere. I'll definitely try that road!
