In 2007, I originally bought a 2008 FJR and absolutely loved it. When I lost it four years ago in the divorce, it was crushing.

Thanks to Warren at Power Yamaha in Sublimity, OR who didn't try to screw me and made a fair counter offer, we had a deal done in under 30 mins.

I am now the proud owner (if everything else goes smoothly, Motorcycling Gods willing), I'll take delivery on Thursday of a new 2012 Yamaha FJR1300A!

The deal was partially made possible by the info from you guys here on the forum. I didn't know the rules and regulations of importing a bike from the US to Canada but several of you gave some very good advice and offered URLs that helped me figure it out. The process is a PITA but not too convoluted and shouldn't be a problem.

The biggest advantage of buying in the US and importing rather than buying in Canada was, while I didn't save any money, I'll be getting a bike that is *three* years newer with 4K+ *fewer* miles on it.

The important thing is, after four years out of the saddle, I'll proudly be able to call myself a rider again!

Welcome back and congrats!! Now get on the 2 wheeled therapist and let the fun begin.

Congratulations on the purchase and welcome back into the fold! Oh yeah, and welcome to AB when you get here.

Maybe I can send you some sunshine to go along with your purchase. It was 88 and rather humid today as I was outside raking the lawn today. Sweat myself half to death. Glad to be back on the couch. Good luck with yer new ride.

LMAO Bastard. :)

It's 48 here in Portland and *29* and snowing in Calgary. :(

I'll have to ride a LOT to make up for the significantly shorter riding season up there.

Welcome back Shawn... when will you be in Cow-town?

Tech Day 4 May, if you're here by then it'll be a good chance to drop in and meet some of the locals.

Don't mean to speak badly of the departed, but any woman who would take YOUR bike in a divorce needs an ass-whoopin'!
Naw. I'd never hit a woman. But the guy she was with who eventually became her husband? HE gets an ass-whoopin'! :)

Congrats on the '12 Shawn!
Heard good things regarding Power Yamaha, great to know they treated you right.

I was't familiar with them but when I mentioned them to friends, they said they were good people.

I'll be there by the end of the month. What and where is "Tech Day 4 May"? I'll definitely try and get there!

Well, first thing is it's pretty damned arrogant posting a thread title like Welcome me back or else!!!!!!

Are you gonna be that high-maintenance the whole time you're here??? :p

The correct method would be groveling, begging, etc.

Please guys please???? I found another Feej, so can I come play some more? Please?

Especially seein' as you don't even really have the damn bike, yet!!!!

I suppose we'll overlook these offenses this one time, but I expect lots of pictures from the few weeks you get to be out riding!!!! And yeah, OK. Welcome back! Hey look! You have your own smiley!!!!

LOL Thanks!

Welcome back and congratulations!

High-side, low-side, blind-side... Any get-off that you get to walk away from is good one.

With some miles under your belt on the new FJR, the four years lost will get smaller in your mirror and eventually disappear from view.
