Back in October, I had a bout' with a Doberman Pinscher, one that I lost, during the Hooterville 400 ride.

After much soul searching and discussion(s) with the wife, we decided to replace the bike with another one, hopefully a 2011 model.

A few weeks back while surfing the internet we found a 11' within driving distance for about a thousand less than what we had given for our 10'.

I didn't check into the deal because I was thinking/hoping that a deal closer to February of next year would come about as I didn't want to buy

a bike to just sit over the winter months and pay the insurance.

I created a "search" in cycle trader so I could search daily hoping to see when a dealer within driving distance might present a deal on an 11'

that I couldn't pass on . Monday when I did that saved search, wow, my heart fluttered! A Black Friday special had one for two thousand less!

And this dealer was open on Monday. A call on Monday and a trip on Tuesday....

A new 2011 is in the garage :clapping:

Remember that rain Tuesday, well, someone was trailering a new bike home during that mess.

Using something the likes of this.

And presenting the 11'...

And the it's first farkle, left over from the 10'.

I am thankful.

Congrats Eric!

...and I think that was a Great Dane...not a Dobermann.

Again...great deal! :clapping:
I don't think it was Mark. When we went to pick up the bike to trailer it home, during our conversation with the lady that housed the bike, we found out different.

It was a Doberman... and I knew that the day of the accident, but crossed my breeds up when talking about it.

Anyway, time for farkles... just ordered a PR3 front tire and a pair of gloves to replace the damaged pair. :yahoo:

Animals always look bigger when their're charging at you.

Congrats on the *find* and purchase Eric! :)

Spring is just around the corner -- well, after winter that is... ;)

Have fun with the new scoot!!

Congrats on that nice looking bike....

Not sure how your state works, but I don't think you need insurance unless you plan on riding the thing...

Holy crap ET ! I didn't even know you went down. Glad you are ok though.

I need to keep up with this board more. Been reading up on the Tenere forum too much I guess.

Where did you buy the new "11" at as I knew of one at Obermeyer Yamaha in Jasper ,Indiana.

Congrats on the new ride! Sounds like you came out good on that whole deal bikewise.

I was just talking about the whole dog incident the otherday at work. You are my best ATGATT example, especially compared to that cruiser guy.

I wonder if they ever found that damn horse of a dog!?

+1 on that!

Glad to see you're ready to get back at it!

Great to see ya got a new ride Eric. She's a purdy thang. BTW you might want to go back and talk to that lady I again. I hear that dog was just recently downsized again to a daucshund.

And like the others have said, I have used your experience when explaining to others why I wear all the stuff.

C'ya in Hooterville Eric.

Thanks everyone! The 11' reminds me of the 10 with heated grips... <_<

As of this moment I haven't heard that the dog was found.
