Whilst visiting cousins and other assorted kin and near-kin, we ventured out to "The Mountain" for a bit of food and shooting. One cousin of a cousin whips out his Taurus Judge, a 5-shot revolver that loads .410 shotgun shells.

That was, as they say, a blast! Rifled barrel so it's NOT a shotgun in the law, and the rifling spreads the pattern pretty quicky. It also fires .45 Colt Long, if you want to put something down a little bit beyond 20 feet. The guy was carrying it as a snake gun while we were exploring the trails and climbing the rocks, and of course we all had to play with it afterwards.

Here's my brother's turn:

And I managed to get a shot of the pattern on the water:

Taurus makes a bunch of different models of The Judge and I think I even saw an ad for a carbine. I have been thinking about getting one to hunt down the carpenter bees that have been gnawing holes in my house. That would be a lot more fun than poisoning them.

Friend of mine has one of these, uses it for home defense. First round is birdshot (hurt and scare), the rest are buckshot. A very versatile weapon.
