Well today turned out to be the day. The bike is in storage. Crap. But I did manage to get in an extra 150km I wasn't planning on. Damn FJR's run SWEET in the cold. I had to pass a transport and thought, wtf. So I kicked it down into 3rd and showed the big girl whose boss.

YA-BABY-YA!

Farkling season has begun.

I'm waiting for my new Russell seat to show up. It'll have to wait till April to try out though. I have a new set of grips and grip heaters in transit (tip, don't get brake fluid on your grip puppies). The forks are coming off the bike and being sent down to Cogent/Ohlins so the big girl will get a fresh new suspension as well. It should feel like a brand new bike for next season.

Now begins the winter day dreaming for rides next year. So far, only 2 are planned. CFR 2011 in Freddy Beach for sure, and, another, that I won't even be riding my bike for, something else :assassin: Which reminds me, I've got to talk to other two amigo's about it.

Anyway, what a great year, easily, the best ever.

May - Cruso NC for Wheatnesses camp out.

June - CFR in Mont Tremblant

July - Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia and an all Ontario SS1600

Aug - New Hampshire for the Green & Whites (well, Whites anyway)

Sept - Vancouver Island - Toeass New Mexico - Knoxville

Countless day trips in between them all.

Not much riding in October, its been cold and wet. I started the season in May with 65Km, and finished at 109Km. 44Km in one season ROCKS!

Think about moving south? Only constantly! If I could be assured I wouldn't have to move back in 6mo I'd be there now.

I'm going to have to return to Arkansas, really beautiful part of the country. I'd planned to ride some the AAD routes but it was to damn hot for this Canadian. As for riding like Petey, one can dream can't they...

Out west here in Calgary, I still have the FJR on the road. This coming week looks like great riding, in fact better than some of the so called summer we had this year. Highs during the day are supposed to be in the high 40s to mid 50s. Pretty darn nice for early November!

I usually don't don't put the bike away until after the first real snow and before the roads are slick. Heated jacket and heated grips are wonderful. Daytime riding only though, no early mornings where there might be frost on the road, and no nighttime (this time of year it's dark around 645 or so) for visibility and possible frost.

So my days are numbered soon too :angry2: The FJR wll soon join my wife's Burgman 650e in deep slumber until March, dreaming of farkles to come and miles to ride .....

You guys had the summer this year, we had the last two years. I've never ridden in so much rain. Our summer here this year was the best in probably 6 or 7 years.

Last year I didn't put the bike away until Nov 23 - the day before we got dumped on with 15cm of that white ****.

I love my heated gear too! I also love the coverage I get from the FJR.

Great meeting at WCR this year Ian. I hope you and the wife make it to South America next summer!

Congrats on the new seat and holy crap! for the miles. Still have the bikes ready to go. Its nice to keep them in the shed this year. Im hoping to get one more ride in before the snow comes , maybe on Sunday. If I don't look at yeah before the snow comes have a good one Buddy.

Nope, its a done deal. The fork are off to get sent down to Cogent for the group buy.

Coldest Ride Contest huh. Have fun with that. My all time record (not on the FJR) is -19C on the lake in front of our camp. CR250 with studded tires. Was hell for fun and my **** finally re-appeared in the spring!
