Well the sliders work (aka parking lots suck)

I thank you for sharing the story of your misfortune as well as the excellent information regarding the factory sliders. I have also foolishly grabbed the front brake at low speed and was amazed at how quickly the bike went to the ground. Of course that was with a 750 Suzuki and the damage was not as financially or emotionally painful as FJR damage.

I can say with certainty that the Gen2 even with the longest sliders I could find will still scratch up its mirror in a 0 mph tip over. The MC Enterprises saddlebag protectors will keep the side cases off the ground and the paint is fairly tough.

When I put the T-Rex frame sliders on the 2015 I was pleased to find that with the removal of one screw the puck itself is easily replaced. I can now speak from personal experience when I say that replacing this:

Is much easier, cheaper, and less emotionally painful than replacing this:

Meh... Leave it there. I rode 10's of thousands of miles with an alternator cover that looked worse and nobody ever noticed. Or at least they were too kind to say they did. ;)

Dropping a bike (at low speed) is not nearly the big deal people make it out to be. Yeah we all get out egos bruised, but the bike is just fine with it.

Yeah thats why I went with the Canyon Cages on the 15....

My 05 has a few of those aluminum pavement dating scars....

Certainly never effected the performance of the machine - just how limp 'little warp' was after the fact....
