OM, great pics and report. Brought me back to our (Iris and I) trip last July down the West coast from Washington to Northern California (more specifically route 1). It's hard not to stop around every turn, to take a picture, the landscape is so beautiful. Do not apologize for a long report, it's all good. Too bad everyday wasn't like your trip. You have a fan here. Thanks for sharing.

Totally awesome ride report. Pic's, story and route. You packed a lot in. Just missing a nude beach shot.......maybe next time.

 

[High Desert Rat]

The "I'm lost" pictures is where I ride around, its about 15 minutes from where live. These are Jackson Lake, Wrightwood, Fort Tejon Road, etc. There are lots of roads that go unexplored on the northside of the Angeles National Forest. The best part of riding up in the high desert is that one doesn't have to beat through all the L.A. traffic and is the gate to the southern Sierras and Death Valley.

How did you take pics while you were on the move?

He steadies the camera with one hand, clicks the shutter with another. Imperative to take the shot quickly, in case you have to turn suddenly or blow your horn. Seriously, I should have taken a picture of him yesterday, riding in front of me and holding his camera backhand to take shots behind. Old Michael is the Warren Miller of motorcycle photography!
