Potentially interesting proposal(?), yet I will be remiss at WFO-9!

However, my question would be, "will the lecture include Video or Powerpoint?"

Actually, Don, that could be done. IIRC, wasn't TWN's memorial service streamed? Some of you have the necessary skills, talent and equipment.

OMG, JB live on the neener-net? He'll be infamous!

Mr. Ionbeam, here-here, sir, well said!

In the deep and inciting insightful words of FJRless:
...I made it half-way through the second paragraph before I realized your post was actually ...3 or ...4 paragraphs long. About that time, I concluded that you are quite full of yourself. Then I remembered one other of your posts that left me with the same impression. Kudos to anyone who actually managed to finish the read You must have ample time on your hands and the patience of Job.
On that subject, I saw this great comment today from the San Francisco Chronicle's sagacious and articulate movie critic, Mick LaSalle, which I think is on point in possibly understanding our colleague's abhorence of too many paragraphs:

Dear Mr. LaSalle
: A reader asks if you're "an elitist snob." Given the way popular culture has invaded every aspect of our lives, I wish more people would take the risk of being elitist snobs. Michael Biehl, San Francisco

Dear Mr. Biehl
: Risking it is OK; being it isn't. Snobbishness is about fear. Low-class snobs fear good books, music and movies out of some irrational terror that they won't understand them or they might encounter some truth about themselves that they'd rather avoid.
:D

But I'm pretty sure the title of it will be something like, "What in the Hell is it with FJRs Anyway?” Or if not that, maybe, “The FJR: WTF?!”
Sounds like the speech I gave at my local Toastmasters club last week, "What the heck is ATGATT?".

Wish I could be there for yours, but will have to miss it this year. :(

So I'm working on my speech for Friday night's WFO dinner. I guess it's coming along all right, so I figured I could share some of it with my fellow forum brothers and sisters. On that note, below is an alphabetized list of some words and phrases I pulled out of my [no, not out of there :nono: ] outline, which should give you an idea of the overall theme of my talk: :graduated:

  • '66 650 BSA Lightning
  • Amal carbs
  • Bling
  • Bumble bee
  • Butt cheeks
  • Chaps
  • DNA
  • Existential
  • Fang
  • Feces
  • Gay
  • Hells Angels
  • Heroin
  • HOG
  • Horse’s ***
  • Lap dance
  • Old Fat *******
  • Pantomime helmet
  • Passion
  • Power Rangers
  • Servo-mechanism
  • Spiderman
  • Terminal velocity
  • Tribe
  • Urine
  • Uxorious
  • Zippo

That's quite a plethora of topics for one speech!
