Just wondering if there is a plan or provision for ID badges or nametags? I didn't see anything about it yet, and with attendance in the hundreds, it would be nice to have a nametag available for icebreaking. I mean, I probably will know about 20 people but want to get to know a bunch more. I've given it some thought, and I think a good setup would be a card with an FJR logo, forum handle (i.e. Mrs. Bluestreek) and a first name, along with one of those neck strap leash things, so it could be easily transferred day to day. It could also be required for entrance into the group activities, to keep undesirables and terrorists out. I'd be willing to kick down the first hundred bucks toward the added expense. Does this sound like a good idea? Anybody here that can get these made cheap? Or would you all prefer to remain anonymous?

We do have plans for nametags, though nothing quite as fancy as the leash thingies (except for WFO Staff members).

We've been in personal meetings with Tom Ridge and have it all under control ;)

Green tags will be for those members that have paid for everything, gush about FJR's curing cancer and bipolar disorders.

Blue will be for those folks that aren't sure if that valve clatter is a ticker or not.

Elevated or yellow will be for those owners that have Warchild listening to the tick.

Orange will be for the confirmed tickers.

And red will be the folks that show up at late scrambling for a witness having just done a Bun Burner Gold.

....joking aside. We've got some ID.....ideas that will work well for handles as well as keeping the freeloaders out.

This is one example of what your $10 registration fee helps cover.

I'm ok with just your basic "HELLO" stick on name tag. But if you guys want to go for the gusto, I'll also chip in on lanyards for "credentials". Perhaps the hotel would be willing to print WFO5 tags for credentials? Can you buy "cards" like that at business supply stores? Looks like they'd be fairly easy to print up, if you had the right stock.

Lanyard Depot

The above could print up some cool "YAMAHA FJR1300" Lanyards.

Or cheapo generic single color lanyards:

NameTagSource

I sent an email to a couple companies for a lanyard quote. Looks like between $1.25 and $1.90 a piece if you get 250 - 500 of them. If you buy in quantity and keep the lanyard rather generic, you could use them for multiple events. Or just order what you need and be done with it. Then you could put all kinds of stuff on it:

WFO5 Yamaha FJR1300

Then put the Yamaha logo inbetween each word or phrase. Can anyone get us permission to use the logo? You guys with the contacts at Cypress??

But like I said, the paper stick on tags are cool by me.

Er, you forgot one...

Rainbow for radman. ;) :D

It doesn't look like Radman will be coming. Having heard from his accountant "******* ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!" is the phrase that comes to mind, farkles have eaten well into available funds. Add to this a desire to be at CFO this year, and there's only so much in the pot. Unless all these friends I've made sending emails to me with fabulous cash offers bear fruit. ;)

If you were going to show up on a bike that wasn't all rigged out with **** from every group buy in the last 18 months, I would consider the charitable donation to buy gas, room & board. But since that's not the case, it's just more like enabling, which wouldn't be good for either of us. You just go ahead and stay local with all your cool stuff dripping off your bike. We'll get by. :D

On the above note from accountant: My neighbor made a $30k Ford 4x4 appear in his driveway 2 weeks ago. Haven't seen his wife since. Hmmm, coincidence?

We could change the text. Add WFO5 - 2006...... whatever..

What do you think?

These babies are $1.75 a piece. The lettering and logo are WOVEN into the lanyard, not just printed on there. We could do the cheapo lanyards with just printing on them for closer to a buck 25 a piece.

And that's the quote for 500 (almost 9 bills, YIKES!) . I asked about 250. Will there be as many as 300 at WFO???

Those look pretty sweet! Is the $1.75 a total (lanyard, clip, badge)? There are over 200 registered already. I think that's bikes, not people, so 300 would be realistic.

.......along with one of those neck strap leash things.......
I'm thinking I know a couple of owners who chould be kept on a leash. Expeshully wun of'em if'n Mrs. TWN doesn't showup, and, well, Toecutter is already volunteering to pay for his leash. :D

Uhm, nope! A little more "soulful" expression, some tears on the cheeks and a bit more pout....then maybe . Naw, not even then! :)

If'n? If'n one does, I'm gonna be thinkin' she's a rental. Sure, I'll buy his leash but you'll have to tend it. :der:

Ooh! Now there's an idea! I could stop at the Chicken Ranch on the way up... Hmmm, prolly'll be a hell of a lot cheaper than the SO's penchant for plastic abuse... :D

Actually, current current Nut House think is that the SO will carpool up with other anti-pillion types. Working on details now... ;)

Yeah it might be a 'whole lot' more expensive if your caught with a Chicken Ranch Substitute. :haha:
