Just read in this morning's local paper that Utah is suffering from an overpopulation problem with MOOSE!!!

Me thinks you won't ride through the middle of one of those and stay upright. They stand about five feet tall at the shoulder! Maybe go underneath?

More bad news...They're attempting to resolve the problem by moving the extra ones to Colorado.

I live here and have only seen one in 15 years in Utah. I saw lots in Wyoming though
Hmm. I've gone there for a few days two different times and saw moose both of those times. Once near Sundance and one north of Vernal. I wonder if our sightings are statistically significant?

My experience these times and numerous times snowmobiling is they're not quite as unpredictable and flighty as deer. They tend to pick a direction and stick with it. However, catch one unaware in a quick blind corner....and......shudder.....I think I'd rather take on a cow than those frickin' legs.

At 1500 lbs. and up, I doubt they need to be flighty. :dribble:

TWN, braised, roasted, fried, or on a spit over an open flame? :cheff:

I was thinking of a scene from the movie, "Jeremiah Johnson". The one where, after asking if Jeremiah could "skin a Grizz", the old trapper leads a Grizzly bear through the cabin and dives out the back window saying, "You skin that'n en I'll go git us another'n!"

So if we get one, are you going to prepare it? :yahoo: I've heard that Moose isn't as greasy as Grizz.

Charts and graphs, please.
No problem!

I had to use a log scale though.

BTW, Utah's thinking about opening up public hunting on TWN's......to thin the post whore herds. They're thinking the month of July. ;)

+2 :good: But dayem... boy's got some serious time on his hands!
Just for the record, it was on my Sunday, I wasn't at work.....but it only took about 10 minutes.

...would have took only 7 minutes if I wasn't giggling so much. Any Excel chart with Barney Fife and a moose is just automatically funny. ;)

I saw a Moose this Sept, while in Utah.

I've never seen one, here in BC.

Thought for sure I would have seen one on way trip to Hyder, Alaska and back.
