Well, we thought we'd be outta Vancouver at the crack of dawn Wednesday before the temp started rising (supposed to reach 105) but looks like my wife has to attend an 8:30am meeting first, so we'll be slightly delayed. But we're only going to Joseph, OR that day, then Moscow on Thursday, so all's well.

I was just gonna start a thread just like this.

Im leaving my house in 5 minutes. All packed and ready to go. One gas stop and I'm outta here. Shooting for Cortez Colorado tonight, but if things go faster than I'm guessing, then I'll make my way into Utah. I have all my camping stuff, so maybe I'll camp. However, I'm thinking I will want a soft bed after today. See you all on Thursday!!!

At work slowly and somewhat painfully watching the clock slowly tick each second off until Friday afternoon.

Tick Tock .... Tick Tock .... Tick Tock ....

Pulled into Kaliapell, MT. with a little sprinkle of rain.

As we rode through town, I thought of RenoJohn, as we passed the FLATHEAD COUNTY JUSTICE CENTER.

The news on TV is about all the lightning strikes and fallen trees in eastern Washington and northern Idaho.

Still home. Had not planned to leave until Thursday a.m., but seriously considering leaving at about midnight Wed/Thur, given the temps around here right now. Even in the middle of the night, it'll probably be in the 80s. :(

Making a straight shot to Moscow and poking around on the way home Sunday and Monday. I need to get to a pool. Quick.

Well, I made it to Moab UT. Its a hot mamma-jamma here so I got a room. Did not feel like roasting my balls in a tent.

The weather here is beautiful. Its hot but nice. Its too damn bad I got rained on and blown over from Grants NM to Cortez CO. That sucked but at least it wasn't cold!

Gonna finish eating, fuel the bike, and then goto the room; take a shower and goto sleep. Hope to hit the road by 0800 tomorrow. Ha!! Well see about that!!

Funny thing happened to me on the way to Dennys this morning in Crescent City...

Hi Tyler! Thinking of you today.

I had a run in with a Bull Elk about 20 miles south of Crescent City. My buddy Eddy and I came around a bend and must have flushed him out of the brush on the right. Eddy got by, but I tagged his hind quarter when he cut across in front of me.

The bikes kinda scarred up. The sliders worked like a champ, but the impact point knocked the right side of the dash and mirror inboard a bit. The bike is still road worthy but I'm a little blind on the right side without the mirror.

I hit on my left shoulder after low siding it. It took me a bit to catch my breath, But I'm good to go. I'll probably regret it in the morning.

I am having fun now! :yahoo: :black eye:

We will see how I feel come friday morning when I'm scheduled for my SS1000.

Holy CRAP Brodie! Clipping an elk and riding away!

You are INDEED having fun!

Amazing.

Like so many others, I've seen the elk through there, and often shuddered at the thought of a "direct encounter"!

You're living a charmed life brother. Looking forward to hearing a first-hand account of the adventure.

Y'all take care on the rest of your ride, and we'll see you in a few.

Out the door here.

Peace.

Just arrived at Grangeville, ID. We have a nice king suite, jacuzzi, private balcony, fireplace, and a flat screen TV. Only $125 a night. Wow this is a nice Super 8.Tomorrow we hit Lolo Pass on the way to Kalispell, MT.

Spotted a blue FJR heading south on 95 near Council, ID. Wonder who that could be?

Talked with a guy on a 2003 at Crater Lake too. He was from Seattle, can't remember his name.
Must have been around 1pm MT. That was me on 95, we should have know, after spending a whole day together in Canada. I was returning home from Philipsburg, Mt. Did the 842 miles from 5AM to 11:35PM. Philipsburg-Cambridge-Oxbow-Sumpter-Ukiah-Pendleton-Vancouver. It was Hot. The reason you didn't recognize me is, I had the side bags on and wasn't racing a Jag. :D

Leaving from work in Portland today at 3pm. Wife decided not to bring her bike due to a healing finger and problems with her foot. So we will be 2-up for the weekend. Taking the northern route on Hwy 12 through the mountains instead of the gorge. Staying the night in Toppenish before continuing on to Moscow on Thursday. See you there!

Leaving at dawn. Dawn in NYC, that is. Damn, it's going to be hot tomorrow. Again. Sigh.

It's wednesday night, I'm sitting in my room at the Best Western in Enterprise Oregon. It's about 2 hours south of Moscow. Eddy and I joined up with Cathy and Roy Epperson this morning and had a nice ride to Mt. Vernon. Eddy split off to go east to Camberege Utah, while the 3 of us headded up north a bit to arrive in Enterprise.

Sorry, no elk hits to report today. I think once is enough for one trip.

However, Bust will be pleased to know that I can use that shaver with my left hand now. :puke:

It's getting easier to reach without a spiking pain in my left shoulder.

HYCLE: Very nice of you to ask, I'm sitting in front of my computer in my underwear; scratching my nuts. Leave WED 0300.

...TMI Bro..... Thanks for sharing....

So Brian, I take this as a "NO" that you do not want to hear about my hemorrhoids either? And here Old Michael had told me what a really great guy you are!

Ack, you guys suck!! It's 6am on a THURSDAY morning, Day 1 of WFO, and I am stuck at work!

For about 4 more hours.... <_<

See youse guys late this afternoon.... the 140 miles between here and Moscow will go fast, because I am taking the desolate High Plains back-roads....

Heat? What about it... doesn't *everyone* have a 1-gallon water jug onboard?

I spent the night in Cascade UT. Its only 219 miles south of Moscow but I did 648 miles yesterday and I had had enough. Besides I didn't want it to get dark in the mountains.

Don...I thought you left Phoenix yesterday a 0300. Did you ride straight through? How are you already there? **** man you must be a stud!

Well, time to shower, pack the bike and hit it. See you all in a bit.

Oh...and OM; I have something for you. Bust sent it. Pucker up big boy...
