Spoken by an individual that routinely rides with Old Michael and Bokerfork. nuff' said'
So he KNOWS.

Changed my 2008 bulbs last year. Only took about 10 minutes total. Not sure what the gripe is... just reach up from underneath and change 'em. No muss, no fuss, nothing to remove or bolt back on.

Might be easier for me as I was already conditions to change the double blind bulbs on my trusty Mazda Protege... a one-hour job under the best of circumstances.

I'm reminded of the wonderful generosity of the entire FJR forum in helping me get Frankenbike back on the road. To this very day, I still say "thank you" to the forum every time I ride.

Now, we all need to do the right thing, pool our nickles and dimes, and buy SacMike some big-gurl panties.

:p :p :p

Next time you need your bulbs changed you can bring them by my new job. I have a 15 min break and could change both of them in that time.

You are ON! One Gen2 PITA bulb change bike heading your way in June/July! (Of course you could ride here and we could ride/party?)

Just pulled the right side bulb out on the '08 today. I've had worse situations, like getting at all the spyders-especially the one near the headlight bulb-but it certainly is a pain in the neck.

Changing the stock headligh lamps is a problem? Hahahahahahaha Wait till you have to change the lamps in the headlight cluster!!! Gotta take the front of the motorcycle off!! Now that's a PITA. HID's, no thanks, I tried that one and got tired of the piss poor Chinese quality on both the ballasts and the lamps. Before you start up on me, I worked in the lighting industry prior to retirement and know a great deal about HID lighting. What the Chinese are doing is giving you the stuff that doesn't pass muster.
