Out of curiosity, Scott, wouldn't that be pretty much redundant with your FJR? Or would you just be switching over to the blau mit weisse side?
Swapping out the FJR. The BMW has a lower center of gravity, does not have heat issues like my gen 1 does so I can use the bottom half of the gas tank, has factory cruise control and the ergonomics are superior (for me). No turbulance or back pressure. So quiet that I don't need ear plugs.

Willkommen Blind Squirrel, Viel Gluck un Gratuliere! BMW R1200RT - Das versteht sich von selbst. I've sent a short wave radio message to Hans und Dieter auf Berlin Command to send you our BMW Factory Indoctrination package, it'll arrive in a large plain brown box. Sieg Heil, Schatzie!

Looking at the DL1000 V Strom & screwed up & found one in Midland, Texas. 2002 less than 6000 miles for $3450.00. Figure for that price

I can give it a whirl & if it does not suit me I can get most of my money back. Go get it tomorrow, now I will have it, the FJR, 1979 KZ1300,

1980 IT 425G and xr650r, dogs won't let me sleep with them so probably the last bike for a while.

... and here it is.

Dude, that moto has Moab in March written all over it ese! Smoke a little weed to counter huron52's staring out into space and just wear a gas mask to cope with yamafitter's garlic scented Kielbasa farts on the ride down from Nord du Ligne eh!

What's the bike you're looking hard at these days?
See, Pat. You put "lusting" in your thread title, ....and right near Friday. You hadda KNOW it'd turn bad.

With all that said, if I could blink and have anything magically appear in my garage (if I had a garage), it would have to be one of these.

Beautifully elegant.

Ya know Bust, someday, I'm gonna just show up on your doorstep and ring your ******' bell.

I'm surprised you had the energy to photoshop that after surfing that much gay pr0n.

I've contributed a great deal to this community over the years. It's something I don't mind doing because it has given more to me than any of you know. I've lived my life with one simple rule, that, respect is earned, not given. I feel I've earned at least a reasonable amount of respect.

But I see this photo-shopping **** that's been going on in this forum pretty god-damn offensive. Hell of a few of the regulars are really pushing it with there words too. We can't bring up politics or religion here because other can find it offensive, but apparently a direct personal attack is okay.

So with that in mind, feel free to go **** yourself with a rake.

Jebus, OM -- I bought one of them '75 Z1s, used, back in Jan. 1977 (coincidental with beginning to ride with a helmet religiously). 'Twas a great bike for the time -- makes me all a-twitter recallin' what it felt like to get on that thing and start it up for a ride, . . . and the feeling of youth it conjures. Now lost youth, that is. That was the bike that converted me to big Japanese I-4s -- I'll never forget how impressed I was at the fit, finish and engineering after rebuilding my detonated BSA 650 and working on friends' HDs (not to mention the hp increase).

Great bike . . . as long as you didn't overcook it into the corners -- with a too flexible frame, handling was not its strong suit, and it would scare the livin' **** outta you . . . if you made it through said corner. But hey, its flight characteristics were probably about the same as a Gen II FJR. :p

BTW, somethin' looks a little off with the color of the side covers and rear plastic in that pic (too much blue). The tank is one of the two '75 colors and matched mine.
