What does it cost you to fill up the FJR now?

Stop whining. Gas is what it is...supply and demand...plus taxes on top to keep the roads from turning to crap. I hate it as much as you guys do, but I'm DEFINITELY not gonna stop riding the FJR because of it. If anything, it may make me ride my FJR more -with commutes to work.

The solutions to high gas prices are not in the purview of this board, unless it's gonna make you sell your machine. Are you?

I didn't think so. :)

Oh, but... au contrairre, mon amie... (yeah, that's some of that smart *** frenchie talk, right there) :p

The beastly Feejer, with it's crazy fun making, pecker stiffenin' power and acceleration, still makes WAY more em pee gees than your average 'murican transport conveyance.

So the price of gas in the US is NOT quite as moot as the price of tea in China. It does actually matter (even though it has already been castigated into NEPRT territory by some admin) 'cause it will mean more peeps doing more FJR miles and fewer Chevy/Ford/Chrysler miles.

Ride on!

;)

I filled up this morning on the way to work. $3.67 at cheapo gas @ 87 octane Yes I did drive home in the snow today. :( Mean while my F350 sits in the yard with a full tank in it. 38 gallons @ 3.67 a gallon= $139.46 to fill up WTF!

The US has cut their consumption of oil by around 10% this last year alone. You would think that would mean lower prices at the pump. "NOT" :angry2:

That WR250 DS Yamaha @ 71 MPG is looking pretty good right now.

Paid 3.849 the other day to fill up my truck. Glad it's a Toyota @ 20 MPG. Feej has a PCIII so the mileage is down but the ride-ability/cost payout is OK.

I'd tell you guys the real story behind the gas prices but the last time I tried that some admin closed the thread. Too "political". Don't want that again. This oil and gas stuff is my regular day job so if you want another opinion from the inside, PM me. I consider myself fairly balanced with this stuff (no "Drill here, drill now" nor "trade your F350 in on a Pirus") and I deal with it every day.

Welcome to the world economy Dave. Supply and Demand does not end at our borders...there's this little country called China that is having it's 20th century industrial revolution about 100 years late. Increased demand for energy, steel, water, and everything else...

I paid $3.59 in Luck, WI yesterday... but I put it in my car. 12" of snow last night.

It's twice the price as when Obama took office, I know that much! I have really thought of getting a small bike that gets 65+ mpg and doesn't eat tires like the FJR for commuting. The FJR gets great MPG for what it is... but the tire consumption offsets much of it.
