what is suppose to be on the handlebar end if you have heated grips ?

They're incredible. But of course you know I'm a little whacky. I've got a CT on the back, big ole' honkin' Clearwater Kritas out front, and my mountain bike bar ends hanging off my 7/8" diameter custom made bar-end weights. They rotate up out of the way pretty easily (too easily, actually, I need to tighten them a little). I pull em back to give me a nice comfy upright riding style out on the slab when the throttle lock is on.

(no heated grips)

You mean two inches LONGER than the ones I have mounted? Remember that the threaded steel holes inside the handlebars... to which I mounted the bar ends... are rubber mounted. This makes the bar ends a little flexible. The longer they are, the more they will seem to move around as the rubber mount flexes. Trust me here, you don't WANT them any longer.
