Looking at the diagram....Part #16 "Plug".

What is it plugging..?

I fiddled with the one on my '16 ES but I'm afraid to pull it out to see what's in there... Don't want to release any magic smoke.
My guess is perhaps this resivoir is used on other models and that the plug is simply a cover for an unused mirror mounting point... If so, if this plugged hole is threaded.... 'Possible farkle mounting point?

An unused mirror mount is what it is. Why it's there I don't know but does make a convenient mounting point for, say, a RAM ball and ... whatever.

What are the chances it's the same thread as a RAM ball... LOL
Talked about here and many other places...since 2005 or so. Try searching on Boolean combinations with terms like mirror hole threaded plug, etc.

.
How is that you don't know everything the almighty Ignacio knows?

Did you search Magic smoke hole? Gaoler clearly states that's what he thinks it might be. in other words he has no idea what to search for. 25 posts and you busting his *** already. All I ask is you take a second before posting this same old reply over and over & think back to when you were green & not knowing how to search or anything about your bike. Looking for help hence the reason for joining the forum. All I am saying is try another tactic, you come off very arrogant to many members. Maybe try PMing the link to the person asking the questions you find redundant they will appreciate it and no further lip service is required, you make your point and the question gets answered.

I don't know this ****. I do simple searches.

He also used mirror hole plugged and other terms that are all also easily searchable. In other words, I think smoke was the one facetious term in that array. I certainly got the joke.

Regardless of 25 posts. 500, or 25000 posts he, you, and everybody else has agreed to the various terms and rules for this forum. Which if you haven't figured out--ain't like other forums. Membership here is a tougher gig and part of the good side of that is the technical conversation is inherently deeper. When people put forth just a modicum of effort, even try a search, and instead post things like, "I searched for x and y, but didn't find it. Is there anything I could try differently?"...you're going to get more aid than you might imagine. I wasn't being faceitious when I said that I find this stuff with simple searches...

Is that all arrogant? I don't think it is, but I can understand how you might think it is, and maybe it truly is. Regardless, I don't really care..I'm going to play the "Teach a man to fish....." line like a broken admin record to anybody that blows off the terms of service when they signed up. Feel free to ignore those posts if you don't like them.

Regardless, I do think you should probably reread the rules of this forum...especially #6 and #7. They speak volumes. I even provided you some search welfare and included the links in my post instead of asking you to search for them. You're welcome.
