I have had three different Streetpilots (2 3720s and 1 2730) and liked them all until the touch screen failed on each one of them. They are very good for the money if you can find a used one today, and now you can get a replacement digitizer, the part on front of the screen that fails, from a seller on Ebay for cheap so you can fix that when it fails. I plan to fix the ones I have and use them in the cars.

Still, the display quality on the Montana is much better and easier to read at a quick glance. I don't have a Zumo, so I don't know how that compares.

iPhone 5 in lifeproof case with a Ram Mount. I have the TomTom Gps app and it works fine. The pluses are: Music, GPS, and phone is all in one waterproof gadget. Its bluetoothed to my Starcom. Negatives: Sometimes it tries to take me in a direction I don't want to go. I can choose different types of routes but it still sometimes takes me out of the way. I can't load a specific route that was built on my computer like google maps. I can create waypoints and force it to go the way I want it to go though, then it works great. It just takes a little time.

Nuvi 1490 with current lifetime maps. Nothing fancy about it, screen is difficult to read at times with glare but it has been reliable. Mapquest is taking some time to get used to but I'll get there eventually. Nuvi sits in a ram mount on top of the clutch reservoir and I keep thinking mounting it on one of the stem mounts might be a better solution but haven't bothered yet.

while i'd like to be able to spend the cheese for a Zumo, i am currently poor.

so i put a lifeproof on my Iphone 4 and ram X mount it. Works like a champ.

in fact, except for not being able to plot routes, the GPS syncs to my headseat via bluetooth along with my Escort Live, my weather radar app anything else i need. pretty happy. and no overheating.

+1 glare with hi viz jacket is an issue, use aqua box for when it rains, if you don't use the garmin power/traffic cable it takes a while to boot. Don't care about the voices or music but isn't an issue to me, so good value ,but clearly not the "best" gps for bells and whistles.

On the FJR1300, I've always used the 2730 Street Pilot. I like the ease of doing routing on the fly and I do like the MP3 and XM Radio.

I have a Zumo 660 on the Goldwing but don't like it as much as the older 2730.

I have the 660 and am happy with it. It has taken our Fl. rains this year (over 30" in 3 months) and is really good with glare/reflection. Also, I like to upload mp3 files into for music....that I can hear! Free map updates is always a plus.
