Not sure about this "par" system of which you speak, but can only assume you're talking about the AIR system, the air injection. And yes, disconnecting it will get rid of the popping-I removed mine altogether. Jestal plugged the AIR ports in the head leading to the exhaust ports completely, I just capped the inlet ports off the reed valves, which has worked just fine over twenty thousand miles plus. There are no benefits over that of eliminating the pop, though removal does clean up the motor compartment. As far as maps, I blended the Wally and Holeshot maps, with the Wally in use below 5000 rpm, the Holeshot above to redline. This retains the mileage qualities the Wally offers, and gets the power on up where you need it.
