I went to my local Yamaha dealer who is the Harley dealer for the area, and asked to order one - they never even contacted me. I finally went out to LA Yamaha in California and got one they had on the floor - they had at least 3 of them that I saw. That was a year ago this month. So obviously, some of the dealers know how to get them. :assasin:

Dont buy the FJR, its only for selfish b*(()^! like me who shadow beemers in the blind spots, then pull up to thier mirrors, then re appear several hundred yards in front of them!
Nice Gas Guzzler ya got back there.! ;)
Yeah my H2 gets 15mpg, its just funny to move over to make room and clear the lanes when I spot a rider splitting traffic comming up from behind. You see, some SUV cagers are Motorcycle riders so if you see this Hummer in OC, give me a wave and I'll back the whole freeway for you if you want!

I went to the Chicago Motorcycle show last year and sat on an '05. Two weeks later I walked into a dealer and asked how long I had to wait. He had a new FJR in stock, and I had to make HIM wait for me to ride it home, since there was still snow on the ground when I bought it. I wasn't surprised, since I heard at the show that there were a few dealers with stock on hand. Shop around, buy slightly used, or whatever. But you don't have to wait to buy this bike if you're in the right place at the right time. If price is a problem, there are good deals out there on well maintained low mileage bikes. Just open your eyes.

Agree with SteveC.
Am getting impatient as well. Have started shopping for other sports tourers. Can't see how I can wait another 4 months to enjoy a sports tourer. If I get a good deal on a used Beemer I might pull the trigger.

Too bad for Yamaha. Can't figure out their marketing strategy in NA for FJR.

Am very confident that Yamaha will not know the real potential market for FJRs in NA if they continue with the PDP program. There are going to be many like me who can't wait.
I you can't wait 4 months for your bike to arrive, I doubt you find waiting 4 months for your BMW dealer to get the parts to keep that thing running much fun!! That is if your lucky enough for the dealer to have someone back ther qualified enought to have have correctly diagnosed the problem, thus ordered the right parts!! BWHWAHAAHAHAAAHAHAAAHA

German bikes are great, if your in Germany.......Otherwise, you got bubba back there scratching his head over the complexity of a BMW wondering what could be wrong with it and preoccupied with wondering how he could get a job with the Harley dealer down the street.
