I grew up in Lafayette, about 60 miles NW. September can still be a little hot/muggy, but overall, should be nice. October is nicer with the fall colors and crisper weather, but it can also be very brisk, especially in the early AM.

But don't forget rain gear.

September is the trailing end of summer, and usualy pleasently warm.

High Temps are typicaly Upper 70's to low 80's. (deg F)

Low Temps are typicaly Mid 50's.
