I've been making a list of stuff I think I should bring on the trip from Maine to WFO. Geezer and I will do some camping out along the way. Some items may not be on here because I always have them with me anyway and some I prolly haven't thought about yet. Trying to list things I might not carry on an afternoon ride.

This is to get others to share some of their ideas of what may be needed on a long trip.

This list may get whittled down depending on available storage space on Thursday afternoon:

pen and notepad

FJR hat

sneakers

swim suit (Speedo)

Small spray bottle-car detailer

polishing rag

tent

sleeping bag

air mattress

bungees

small flashlight

waterproof bag

cold, hot weather gloves

waterproof overgloves

US Atlas

extra bike keys

camera

video cam

cell phone

chargers for above

Video tapes

tire kit

tire pump

tire gauge

spare headlight bulb (I have one)

phone card

binoculars

travel alarm

chapstick

aspirin

reading glasses

extra pair of shades

small bug repellent

floss

rain suit

bike cover

gun and ammo(definitely optional)

Lets hear it everyone, time is getting short. :yahoo:

If you want to keep your friends, maybe a change of clothes and some deodorant.

2 main fuses, bug spray, medical kit, sogg, waterproof matches/lighter, extra shield, wet naps, waterless hand cleaner, sunscreen, cable ties, batteries, fork/knife/spoon, zip lock bags, barf bag for Geezer, electrical tape, etc, etc.....

Oh, I almost forgot....one extra large industrial strength container of monkey butt powder.

I like to take a packet of glass cleaner wipes and keep them handy while I am riding. I really dislike having to look through several exploded bugs and their guts as I am zippin' through the mountain roads. Nothing worse than a distorted image of an upcoming corner...

I am trying a packet of Windex Glass Wipes in a flat dispenser. I have used the round tube type dispenser but the wipes tend to dry out in the tube.

As far as your "optional" gun, be aware some states take the crossing of state borders VERY seriously so be discrete about that one. And don't clunk your jacket down on a table with the impact of a Beretta Model 92 9mm pistol. It tends to give you away to the knowledgeable.

Bill

ps. 6 days and counting to liftoff.

I would add the following items to your list.

Towel

shower clogs

pee bottle

shaving kit

ground tarp for tent

chair

paper towels

dirty clothes bag

bike registration

insurance card

Mac

You forgot your I-Pod and make sure you have loaded it with all the Osmonds tunes and also Donny and Maries greatest hits :D Have a safe trip and lots or fun

weekend rider :)

Pee bottle? Who said that?

You're getting quite the list here - will be a heavy load. Take my advice...and lose the floss.
