All aboard the NEPRT train! I live in San Diego where it rains five times per year and could not care less about traction in rain or worse; I'm looking for the best tire for cornering on dry pavement, with longetivity a secondary (but not irrelevant) concern. The BT021 is **** even when new; the bike does not lean properly like it should. Of course there've been lots of good posts on the Pilot Road 2s but I wonder if there's a better tire given that I'd never ride in rain?

If treadlife is not a big concern: Dunlop Qualifier or Dunlop D220

If treadlife needs to be reasonably good: Avon Storms

Thanks, I'll read up on those. I know there've been lots of posts on the Avon Storms, though some report uneven wear. Regarding slicks, I do encounter sand and whatnot and this is for street, not track, so slicks would be really unsafe if not outright illegal (?).

****!

Ok -Lets see how many dipshit questions I can ask before somebody finally gets pissed- I'll be decent........read up in the bin"O" facts, weed.

Don't tempt me......... :angry2:

To bad the ol man ain't around. you'd be toast......

*******.

You're a huge troll, Bustanut. Shut the **** up. None of the tires Warchild mentioned are in that thread. Maybe you should try reading it sometime.

I've but a short triad.. hell not even that.

In the tiny amount of time you've been here, all but three of your question shoulda been answered in the bin.

Get a clue

Oh an,

GFY

But they aren't answered there. That thread is not a magical thread that answers any question asked. So if you can't contribute anything useful, be silent.

While I am no tirepert I would consider a combo set: a really sticky front with a rear that will wear reasonably well. Something like a pilot power front and pilot road 2 rear. Jeff Ashe has a combo he likes a lot; senility and laziness prohibit posting it here. ;)

Right, then..... Potential, you've been had, good sir. Take a look at the tiny character in each of Bustanut's post.....

:jester:

Busta' is the forum jester. Truly. Just look at his forum handle...."Bustanut".... he's just busting your balls, because... he's our forum jester!

If he didn't like you, he wouldn't say nothing at all. The fact that he does his "Bustanut" routine on ya, means he thinks you're an okay dude. ;)

See? We are all a happy band of brothers here.... you *******! :****:

Newbies: Gotta luv 'em.

Storms. Excellent grip wet or DRY. Lasta good long time too.

I've been happy with the grip on my current Roadsmarts too. Can't upset them. Too early to tell about longevity- only about7K so far, but still feel nice. Even on the near freezing mornings lately.

My $.02

I just replaced my PR2 rear tire @ 9800 miles. Some would have kept riding it as it had "just" worn to the wear bars. I'm still running the front with a rear Pilot Road take-off I had in the garage.

That's the best I've ever done!

BT 021s were "gone" in 3500 miles.

5500-6000 miles on PRs.

A quote from BikeEffects: "Tires are a wear item. Why not try them all and see which work best for you."

I'd have to imagine that would be a good combo, but like madmike, I'm really liking the performance and longevity of my first set of Pilot Road 2s, and I think all of that has been in the dry, with the exception of a few fog wetted mornings (one such being Highway 1 from Los Osos to Monterey).

Pick up a pair of Pirelli Diablo Rosso.

If the tread life is not to your liking, move to a Dunlop RoadSmart rear and Pirelli Diablo Strada front.

If that tread life is not to your liking, move to a pair of Michelin Pilot Road-2.

Each step is a decrease in grip and handling, yet an increase in tread life. You can't have the best of both in the same tire.

It shouldn't take you too long to go through three sets of tires in SanDee Eggo.

Mr. Ashe, did you give the Rosso's a go? I don't recall seeing your review of those.

There was a thread a couple months ago which had a link to a test of them on the FJR, which seemed to indicate it was a bit heavy for the tires.... certainly looked like you could get by though.

Curious, as always, to hear your opinion.... :)

Potential: I would totally ignore all the Members like WC, who put untold thousands of miles on their tire's.... And some ******* like

BustaNut, I would totally ignore (unless your Gay........Not that there's anything wrong with that)

I would suggest that if a Forum Member by the name of Radman offers help,,, Totally ignore him also.

And that Jeff Ashe character, WTF does He know ( Probably grinds off more tires than anyone)

But that's just me...... A Wize Old Parking Lot Nazi once told me: Rather than saying nothing, and being thought a fool, Don't open your mouth and remove all doubt.....

What's the best condom for dry ***? See...That wasn't a very good question either.

There are countless threads on this, and if you look in the right place, you are sure to find your answer. Start with Jeff's stuff. That should keep you busy for a day or two, depending on your comprehension skills.
