I will start,2 years ago I had my 31 ft motorhome with the fjr on the trailer behind me heading north to do some side railroad work (worked for the railroad for 20 years as a carknocker) and go to a Suzuki gs rally in shasta . cruising up some 4 lane road in central cali, smooth road.

I decided I was thirsty,so I set the cruise control on the class c tioga, stood up between the seats, let go and bolted to the fridge, opened it,grabbed a soda and hustled back and live to tell

that was STUPID.LOL

I got married. Traded her in for an FJR. The first part was the dumb part.
Ok Shineypartup, you're in the lead for the dumbest so far.

I'll try one. One summer took some old buddies out on the lake. After few beers went tubing....with the anchor still out. That thing was spinning almost as fast as the prop!

12 years old on the farm. Outdoor workbench with vice. 6' piece of 3/4 pipe clamped to bench in vice, aimed just left of the barn. Long eavestrough spike, hammer. Insert 12 ga. shotgun shell, #2 shot. Dunno where I got it as we didn't have a shotgun. Hold spike to primer and hit hard. Blew out a window pane and lived to tell about it. Good thing I hit hard.

I too was going with married my first wife....I guess my runner up answer would have to be when I was about 20 years old I had a 66 Ford pickup with a transplanted 302 V-8 with a pretty healthy cam, headers, 4 barrel carb, etc. Took it out on a shakedown run shortly after the installation of the fresh motor. No aircleaner on it at the time as we were still messing around with the carb. Stopped at a local restaurant for a bite to eat. When I tried to start it to leave it backfired through the carb and caught the damn engine compartment of fire! Fire department was called and everything! Burned up most of the underhood wiring harness, ruined belts and hoses. Costly lesson.

I was in Perth, Australia on shore leave. Went to the biggest night club in town. The place was crawling with smokin' hot babes. I saw the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life facing the band stand. I was behind her. Long beautiful dark hair. A body that brought me to my knees. I walked up to her and asked her to dance. She turned around and it was A GUY!!!!!! He wanted to punch my lights out. That was STUPID!! I look at them from the front before I ask anyone to dance now.

My first wedding for sure but in more recent history. Two years ago on the 4th of July I neglected to get out of the way of a large cannon that I had just lit the fuze on. The resulting recoil and impact cost me a broken foot and the landing cost me a broken wrist. STUPID HURTS !!!! Every year I am reminded by town folks to get out of the way.

Sorry, I ain't playin'.
Nuh uh!
Hehehe, Mark -- me either. Not for dumbEST, anyway. What gets posted on the internet is forever, and now that we know the NSA is collecting everything, you don't know who might have occasion to dust it off one day . . . in just the wrong situation.

There are so many that I just realized it would take a video of my whole life to cover them all.

Soooooo, are you looking for a list, chronologically from youngest to oldest??

Holy cow, think of the sub categories:

Dumbest thing I ever did:

On Skis

On a horse

On a bull

At home

At school

On water

On a motorcycle

In a car

At the movies

At the mall

In a hospital

On a bicycle

With a firearm

With a chainsaw

With a Bridgeport Mill

With a lathe

With fire

That doesn't even cover all of them, buy it's a start. Then there's "at work," which has its own sub categories:

In the office

In a work vehicle

On a work trip

In a pool (seriously...don't ask)

On a motorcycle

In the dark

During the day

With a girl (not necessarily this job. I've had others)

Involving alcohol

Again, the list is voluminous.

Sheesh...The more o think about it, the more I'm thankful/amazed I'm still alive and not too badly permanently injured.

Some of it really hurt, most of it taught lessons when the realization we/I could have been killed set in, some of it cost a LOT of money, some of it was worth doing cuz it was fun as Hell. Some of it I wouldn't repeat if I was paid millions, and some of it, I'd do again just to see if I still can.

Almost NONE of it is good to tell my mother or the internet about.

Funny that I don't see any of the following in that list:

At an FJR meet

With a sheep doll

With SkooterG

In front of a a camera

In New Mexico

To your credit, you did include "Involving alcohol" but curiously, it seems to be in the "at work" category.
