None of us have anything on the Vietnamese, who routinely would motor around with firewood stacked 9 feet high or a family of 5 on something like a Honda 50.

A V8 bellhousing for a 55 Chevy along with the tools to pull it.All I had was my CB450 as 1 car was donating an engine and the 55 took a lot more junkyarding than I thought to convert to V8. Jeff

I've been known to strap all kinds of stuff to my bike, including: two bags of lump charcoal, a 50# bag of dog food, a set of tires, a large cooler, 40# bag of bird seed, and a spade shovel...just off the top of my head.

Here's some pichers:

A full frame backpack to a 1978 CB750K.

Was a three day weekend and I was itching to go backpacking in the eastern Sierra's. Asked my buddy to come along. As per usual he declined. I told him my plans, he looked at me like I was crazy.

Amazing what you will do when you're too young to talk yourself out of such things. Had a great trip. Honestly can't remember if the backpack was strapped to the "sissy" bar or if I simply wore it, but either way 6.5 hours later I was at the trailhead and loving life.

A buddy packed a large case of toilet paper on the back of his R80 BMW GS from Costco to the ferry landing. He told one curious guy that it was going to be a long trip.

2 15" snow tires for my full sized Ford car(can't remember the model). No tie downs, just put them over my torso. On a 66 Yam Twinjet 100.

Maybe the weirdest, heaviest thing strapped to my bike: a 50-pound bag of Purina Pig Chow to my '82 Honda Sabre 750. The pig, Arnold Ziffle, was the entree at a Labor Day picnic beer bash. The widest thing strapped to my bike: My Model 12 Winchester 12 gauge (inherited from my late father) to my 1st FJR. Had a great time at a sporting clays event, but only hit 47 of 100.

Blue healer dog on a Honda XL175.
Niehart you lying el Pendejo, you fib as much as HotRodZilla does; how can you possibly ever forget those two twin sisters we picked up by the train yard in Gallup, New Mexico, on our ride to Amarillo, Texas to meet up with Herr Petey! jes' sayin' and nuff said, Tons of Fun!

I have carried large bags of dog food, charcoal and cases of beer; but Renojohn's keg really is outrageous. I'll have to try it, but I'm a bit worried about the subframe.

Was the keg full?

I had a little Honda Ascot 500 thumper, and had put over 125k miles it in my 25 years of ownership. The bulkiest thing I carried on it was a 6 foot christmas tree crosswise on the rack behind me. It was about a 5 mile ride home from the Home Depot where I had bought it. It was kind of cool going around the turns having the tree top kissing the street. What really got me smiling was when I waved at the cop pulling out of the driveway to my right and heading the other way.

Downright dangerous:

That's a sheet of glass or mirror.

Also saw pigs, crates of chickens, rolls of carpet, you name it.
