You're right Fred, I had two HJC's and both were flimsy construction even when new. Decided to pony up on the MultiTec and the difference in quality was night and day.

I think the Scorpion is on par in quality with the Shoei helmets I've tried (and owned), but at less than half the ransom.

Let's face it... we all know how much material goes into these helmet.

Shoeis and Arais get the prices they command only because people are willing pay it.

Haven't tried the Scorpion to be able to compare but, agree that the price difference has always been lopsided. I think reputation and word of mouth has something to do with it. All I know is that out of all the helmets I've owned, Shoei must have used a mold of My head cause it fits perfectly.
