Don't get excited yet, just turned it on to test.

I'll meet Wheatie tomorrow at 9AM at the Iowa 80 truck stop in Walcott, IA.

Sorry JB, I know you won't be awake for the start, but we can't hold the starter's flag passed 9AM.

Edit start time is 7 AM typo'd the 9.

0700? That's your local time, correct?

Do you realize that's "OmiGod:30" to JB?

those fellas sure picked a crappy day to cross the great plains; temps in the 40's, north wind, drizzle. **** That

sure wish I was with them

I'm all set with reservations in Santa Clara and will be intercepting the northbound group Friday. Anyone have space in Bodega Bay?

Talked to Mark and Karl in western Nebraska. They said the wind was blowing like hell and at 85 mph their gas mileage was in the mid-30s.

That's the worst -- nothing fatigues you like a hard wind. Looks like they started in the dark and rain and are about to finish in the dark and rain -- right around 1000 miles total if they're stopping in Denver. A good night's sleep and here's hoping they get some nice weather for riding through the Rockies tomorrow.

Got a message from Karl's spot - they got to the Super 8 in Brighton at about 8:30 pm local time. Nice job. He said earlier they were going to start a little later tomorrow for riding through the mountains.

That was a bit of a day. I'm making a recommendation to his high exalted grand poobah of the CBA (Carver) that Wheatness be removed as a card carrying member immediately.

Go Wheatness and Airboss!

As a matter of fact Tom, I've got a room in Bodega Bay all to my lonesome. If you can put up with some snoring then you're welcome to take the other half of the room.
