Tell the guy working the lumber yard you need a 2x4 to use as a lever and as him

the difference in "board feet of torque" an 8' length is capable of verses a 12'.

You'll get all kinds of strange looks.

Stumped a lumber yard manager once with it and he gave up and walked away. It

was pretty funny.
