The FJR1300 service manual does not state when the fork oil has to be replaced. I am the original owner of a '04 with 18K+ miles and would like to know when it should be replaced. If you know of

link that lists service intervals please send it.

Change it at your first opportunity. It is overdue. Do some reading on the various suspension sites, traxxion, gp suspension, etc. and you'll find loads of good information.

Edit, some light reading material clicky Here

Call Lee at Traxxion. HE set me up with some 1.10 front springs, 10wt oil, and some cleaner for my 06 iwth 10K. Big difference and the old oil was dark brown!!

Did mine at 20,000 and it needed it. I used Silkolene Pro-RSF 7.5wt and you can tell the difference. Plenty of information on this forum as to how to. You might want to consider changing the springs while you are at it. :)

Yes, you're considerably overdue at 18K.

Assuming that's original assembly-line fork oil, you will be stunned and demoralized at the muddy water you pour out of your forks:

A fresh set Ohlins or HyperPro springs would do you proper.... then you can use this article:
