I was in the Bay Area and Sonoma/Napa last weekend and know that the weather was perfect. So where are the ride reports? Where are the pics?!!? Us snowbirds are in desperate need of some inspiration!

By the way, from Sonoma to Napa, I drove the Trinity Rd / Dry Creek Rd / Oakville Grade Rd multiple times over the mountain and thought it would be a great ... albeit slow ... technical ride on a bike. Any words of experience from you NoCal guys? I know the traffic can be nuts in that neck of the woods but I often read reports of visits to Lake Berryessa to the east.

Finally, I didn't see any FJRs or green parrots in downtown San Fran. :glare:

Someone needs to carry the torch that Andrew passed to yall Californians!

That is one of the many things that i will miss.

Murph, you are a dog! You came to the Bay Area and didn't tell anyone. :glare: Dog.

Now, it's funny you mention ride reports, because I was just reflecting this morning while getting ready for work that I haven't written a bizarre, surrealistic, Twilight Zone, WTF-is-he-going-on-about ride report in, well, a long time....* So thanks for that nudge. Now I just have to find a ride to ride write about. But on my long lunch-time walk through San Francisco today, I dreamt one up.... But it ain't for everyone, and possibly no one (well, Hycle would go). Here's a hint: leave your side bags at home, and bring along your go-slow skills. But most of all, bring your camera....

[Edit: Of course, I guess I could finish the Creston Chronicles, and try to get Silent and myself home.... ]

BTW, although it ain't much of a "report," here are some pics of what Jerry and I did the weekend you were in town (dog :glare: ).

You gotta know where to look. Did you look up for the parrots? I saw an FJR yesterday while picking up my bike at GG Cycle, where I got the factory recall repair done to that twisty thing my right hand connects to. There was a guy there picking up his blue '05. I asked him if he was on the forum. He looked at me as if I had monkeys on my face (translation of a Spanish dicho). He said, "Oh, is that an Internet thing? I don't do the Internet." That was the end of the conversation, apart from the thought bubble over my head with the word "Twit."

Thanks! Somehow I missed that post. Those few photos gave me a quick fix.

Guilty as charged ... I'm a dog. I wish I could have a do-over and go back one week. :sadsmiley:

I was in the North Beach area for awhile but I guess I wasn't close enough to Telegraph Hill (Coit Tower) to see the birds. They're around there, right?

On the bright side, however, when we went up to the Golden Gate Recreational Area to take in the view and the WWII-era gun turrets and pillboxes, I did imagine FJRs running thru the curves and stopping at the overlooks (as I've seen in previous ride reports).

Lombard Street - uphill - at night - on acid?

. . . He said, "Oh, is that an Internet thing? I don't do the Internet.. . ." Jb
Not surprising. The vast majority of riders do not visit any of these forums. I've only ever personally met 3 riders (of any marque) in my area who even know these motorcycle forums exist. I know of (though I haven't met) 4 FJR owners in the area who are members of this forum, but at least 3 other FJR owners who are not members of this or any other forum, and are just not interested. The same is true for most of the other riders I know. Not interested. Their choice.

Not exactly a RR, but from today... at the end of this thread
