Remember when you change your battery the pumpkin fluid is due a change also. I use seal oil in mine. My back-up is amsoil.
Pop the middle rivet in slightly till it clicks. Then work the clip out. Then reset the rivet to outside by pushing it back through. Place into panels and push centre back in. Jobs done! When removing the Panels. What is the trick to removing the Quick Fastener?I am trying to access the Battery on my 2008 FJR and removing the screws is easy.
It is the quick fastener thats got me at a stand still?
That's why the guy was in sales and not a tech. The Gen III battery is in the same place as Gen I & II. It's under dash panels C & D on the right front of the cowling on Gen I & II and in the same place but now called Panel A on the Gen III. Refer to the owners manual for the dash layout.Where's the battery? When my sales manager was showing me...he pointed to a cover under the front seat and told me "that's where the battery is"....
Actually, batteries will last longer in cool climates as long as you don't regularly let the charge run down too far during periods of inactivity (i.e. winter). My OEM battery (2007) is still good at 86,000 miles - hope to get another year or two out of it.My 2005 has the original battery as has my 2005 Vstrom no battery tender . You can never tell ,but I believe cold climates do reduce the life of batteries . I have had several times very short battery life in motor vehicle with cheap batteries like 18 mnths and 8-10 years out of good quality batteries ,so buy a quality battery when you need one .
take a small screwdriver and push the center of the plastic rivot in about 1/4 inch and pull it being careful not to lose it or drop it.When removing the Panels. What is the trick to removing the Quick Fastener?I am trying to access the Battery on my 2008 FJR and removing the screws is easy.
