Damn!!!! I was hoping to hear a little better story than that.....pizza and burps, that's just another day in the hood.

Only knew the tire was bad the night before the trip?????? Girl Scouts should always be ready.

You guys missed the Hot Springs Bike Rally this past weekend. I invited you to go. But some of us didn't want to travel that far. If you had come, it would have been a very long ride home on Sunday. We didn't go to bed until somewhere around 3 AM. Needless to say, Sunday was a long day.

Maybe next time???

odot has it about right, except the burping part doesn't apply to me!

Ryan (L8RG8R) got the highway pegs on and then we adjusted them. Since it was on the center stand, i said "lets check the tire". i was very concerned about it and had given Ray a heads up that i couldn't check it til Saturday and that it may prevent us from going. I had 12,541 miles on the bike. sure enough, cord was just starting to show through in the middle. so that was the end of our trip. took the bike over to ryan's house, took the tire off, ray came over, dropped tire off at cycle gear, went to eat pizza, picked up new pirelli, reinstalled it, changed pumpkin oil, put some air in front tire, did test ride, went home.

i did forget until wednesday night that i was low on rubber. wasn't sure of my exact mileage or how much was left on it. since i'm working 2 jobs right now and have zero free time (seriously, working and getting 6 hours of sleep is all i'm doing monday through friday), there was nothing i could do about it anyways. ryan and i really did think we could get another 750 out of it, based on the numbers, but i'm glad things worked out as they did. instead of cord showing up 100 miles down the road!

went for a ride with ryan sunday morning, very nice to experience new rubber again!! had a great ride around south tarrant county.

Looks like odot and i are headed to kerrville tomorrow! twisted sisters on sunday!
If your going to stay in the Kerrville area, look into staying at the Koyote Ranch. It's just south of Kerrville in some of the prettiest parts of Hwy 16 and they cater to motorcyclists with cabins, tents or even a bed and B'fast.

As for Talihina, I've made reservations at the Lazy R Inn for a ride I'm doing the second weekend of Oct. There's also the Kiamichi Inn in Talihina. You can check for area lodging here. The Queen Wilhelmina Lodge is usually booked on weekends, but it's certainly worth a try.

I've also stayed at the Lime Tree Inn in Mena, AR. Not a bad place, but no Hilton.

And it's not the twisted sisters. It's the 100 mile loop! :) :p
thanks for the links gary! the wilhelmina lodge is on my short list - stopped there last year so i have seen it. as for the Koyote Ranch - your the second person to recommend that to me. but since odot is pretty short on mulah, it'll have to be somewhere i stay without him.

and i was waiting for u to tell me its the 100 mile loop!! ;) :D

Odot, that just might be your longest forum post ever.
Congrats.
