Hi Chaps,

I've done the search and not found the specifc question......

Getting ready to install my AutoCom intercom on my 08FJR. The instructions from AutoCom say to mount in the back under the seat taking power of the rear light cluster. This makes it easish to get to and moves the unit away from any noise sorces like charging/ignition system.

I am thinking I would rather mount it in the glove box and take power from the accesory plug there. But am woried about the noise interferance. Before I rip this thing open can anyone confirm if they are using this spot already for a intercom/radio instal? Is there any practical issue with noise interferance?

Finally I can take the digital camera out with me to record the process if anyone is interested in a blow by blow on this install.

Cheers

David

While I have not mounted mine in the glove box, the accessory plug there has been noted to be noisy.

I've installed my Pro-M1 under the seat and wired ito the battery via a BlueSeas fuse block and a relay. The fuse block on also under the main seat (left side) the Autocom is next to it on the right.

My headset jacks are tie-wrapped to the bracket that holds the lower left bag bracket and footpeg.

Very clean audio when I use it.. But when I'm alone I simply plug my earphones into my iPod.

Mine is in my tank bag along with the Valentine 1 and mp3 player. I don't think the glove box is big enough for an autocom. I could be wrong.

I can confirm the Glove box works. I have had mine mounted for about a18 months in the glove box with no problems.

I use the autocom super pro AVI with kenwood radio, Garmin GPS, Ipod, phone, and Radar detector.

No problems

Mine's under the pillion seat. That little slot back there with the rubber strap over it is a perfect fit. Power via battery right now, but Fuzeblock install is on the way. Plus, no headset extensions needed.
