Hey Manatee Fecker: What are you laughing at? iboldguy is only five years younger than you are, You Neanderthal! Not that I can talk, just one day less than being older than dirt: One foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel!
Certainly NOT denying my mature status.....notice I spelled Mantovani correctly. :p
Yes, I did notice you had Mantovani spelled correctly. My Mom and Dad loved listening to Mantovani on the stereo. While Chuy had Wolfman Jack broadcasting from Tijuana on my little pocket radio.

XERB AM live from Mexico every night playing music that would drive my folks muy loco! RadioHowie, in your long radio broadcasting career, did you ever have a chance to meet Wolfman? Fifty-five years later and I can still hear his rough voice in the middle of the night playing rock and roll, rhythm and blues and sweet soul music! Let's Hear It For Wolfman Jack! Long Live The Wolfman!!!
Were they up to 8 transistors that far back?

Never had the honor to meet the Wolfman. Although I did eat pizza and drink beer with Garth Brooks before a concert one night back before he was "somebody". :)

Don, you hold him....I'll hit him. :assassin:

KEEPING IT FJR RELATED! I find the sweet spot occurs about 2 -4 seconds after the motor fires, the kickstand is up and both feet are on the pegs. :yahoo:
no warm-up first?
Never saw the need. That's what the fast-idle circuit is for....to make the bike instantly drive-able. Warm-ups are for soccer players and ballerinas. Oh, and Gen IIs.
+1 To Radio Howie...

Powered up, idling her throaty Hindle note, 2 seconds and pegs up!!

Here in Canada, the sweet spot runs from 140-180 kph...

Yes, the Police Lights will ALWAYS come on when enjoying your Girl!!! Feejer's are a true Police Magnet...

Big Sigh - Followed by a Bigger GRIN!!! (The Blue Lights Fade given some distance)...

The Super Sweet Spot is 140-160 Clicks...

That's about 90-100 mph for non-Canucks...

Funny thing 'bout that is how much the Blue Lights keep lighting up while I ride there... It must match their sweet spot too...

Go Figure...

Scott

My feejers sweet spot is just into blue light territory- 80-85 mph. Since the national speed is typically 70 (75 in a few spots, 65 in a few others) I've developed a severe case of rear view mirror paranoia.

The cure is to travel at 90 so as not to be overtaken while looking far ahead with an airspeed induced grin. A full face helmet doesn't help the grin but does keep it from scaring cagers.
