Well, like the ******* that I am, I put both bulb sets in an online cart and forgot to delete one before finalizing the order. So, I got both. :fool:

Historically it appears that people like both bulbs for the added light output, but remember hearing that one was more prone to burning out sooner, possibly due to vibration.

So, your thoughts, feelings, dreams, grunts, burps, and anything you care to share on the topic would be much appreciated.

Oh, and I will have a set of bulbs for sale in a short while...

I have been using the Vision Plus bulbs since about 1999 when they were first released, and have used them in several bikes with no issues.

I really don't care for "blue tinted" bulbs that shift the color temperature toward the blue spectrum, as they only tend to increase glare and annoy other drivers. The Vision Plus do have a slight blue tint on them, but it is only on half the bulb, so the effect of it is greatly reduced.

In reality, a more yellow light will penetate better and reduce reflected glare and is easier on the eyes. All these blue bulbs that are the rage these days, just came about from folks trying to copy the HID look. I don't think the blue tint accomplishes anything other than making more glare and annoying other drivers on the road. I wish someone would make a bulb with a very light yellow tint on them.

I have some photos showing the comparison between a stock bulb and Vison Plus and Narva (german) bulbs here if you want to see them.

Works for me, YMMV

You don't really expect us to believe you actually ride at night, do you?

Haha. Now, that's true! I think I rode all of about 40 miles at night.

What HID's are you running? Did you do the Jestal mod or something similar? I considered the HIDs and was about to self buy when Warchild screamed bloody murder.

I had Silverstars on my last bike and they crapped out in less than 1 season. Never again for me but YMMV.

I've had good luck with my PIAA's even though it has been explained to me that the blue lights are, perhaps, less effective than stock.

I also have my group buy HID's sitting in a box in the garage. I was scared off by the reports of less than stellar low beam coverge and I haven't seen fit to revisit the issue yet.

Cheers,

Jim
