Don't you just love a story with a happy ending? :drinks: :clapping:
Enjoy your new ride... when can you get over there to pick it up?

Don
Everything should be finalized after Christmas. I have a family member in Scottdale that will babysitting the bike for me until I can get out there. Unfortunately, it may be a couple months until I can make the trip. Meanwhile, I'll be soaking up all the info I can here to prepare the bike for the road trip home. Its about 1100 miles, so me and the FJR will be well bonded by the time I get her home. Looking forward to that.

I did a similar trek to pick up my bike...Atlanta to Houston 900+ miles over the first two days. I got home, put her in the garage, and thought to myself: "Self, (that's what I call myself) the only thing I want to do right now is go for a ride."

You may call a few shippers. They can become very flexible on price if you become somewhat flexible on delivery date. You might find the cost in the same ballpark as a one-way plane ticket to Scottsdale.

The quote I got was 560 bucks to my door. I tried three different outfits and thats the best price I could find. I didn't call them directly, however. Is that what you mean?

What color do you like? No seriously, I'd work a deal on the used unit. Is the bike at a dealer? The dealer that originally sold it/maintained it, etc. Reason I ask is I purchased my 2006 out of warranty by a few months and informed the dealer that I would not purchase without the YES warranty. The made some phone calls to mama Yamaha, found out what was required to certify it for the yes warranty and I was able to purchase it with the yes warranty. At $11,000 for a 2006 with 3600 miles and only 15 months of registered road time before I purchased her last year in Sept. 07 I feel I received a very good deal.

You did GREAT!

Congratulations on the new bike. It sounds like an excellent deal, with or without farkles.

Hi John,

Yeah, I wanted to get a YES warranty from D&H but that is not in the cards. The bike I purchased is out of warranty now and not at a Yamaha dealership. I figured with only 2600 miles on the clock one wouldn't expect any major problems/issues. I'm pretty handy and can fix stuff myself which would save me labor costs anyway should there be an issue. Thanks for the tip!
