That is part of our ride plan.We are riding up from SoCal to Zion

...
Zion is on the route were taking from WCR to SW-FOG. But were headed for the Grand Canyon (North Rim) after. So much to see.. so little time..
N Rim G.C. is always one of our all time favorite stops but you need the time to take as much time as you can. If you plan on spending the night and haven't booked a room, good luck. We always book 3-6 months in advance. The foreign tourist are all over this one.

Hwy 12 to Torrey from Zion is one of our all time highs. Besides, we will be checking out property again.

... One of my other Top 5 is the Million Dollar Highway, US550 from Ouray, to Durango. If you have never done this road before, you MUST do it. ...
+1

I totally agree with SkooterG on this one!

Silverton isn't too bad a place to catch a cheap Mom-N-Pop motel for the night. Not much there, but acceptable nonetheless. Then be sure to get rolling at the absolute first light and take a very slow ride out of Silverton. Tons of wildlife to see and some of the most breathtaking roadside scenery to be had anywhere in the USA!

You guys have missed it, the best twisty road in CO has got to be Hwy 92 from Hotchkiss to Blue Messa Lake. Continious twisty, no traffic, a few very small towns, unbelievable scenery. Awsome views of the Black Canyon the last several miles!

fjrrider, Even though it totally makes me want to puke, having to back up our pinhead: Dave does show this exact routing on his map up in Post #5. And you're indeed correct, that's a very nice route!

In order: BeemerDonS, pinhead and Big-D! https://www.azbeemers.org/forum/index.php?topic=2092.0 Thirteen of FJR Forum and AZ Beemers rode all the described Colorado roads last week of August.

Colorado is truly a Motorcyclist's Heaven, even if pinhead does live there!

... and for the record, I took the picture. None of those old *******s could climb the hill to get the vantage point. :p
Point well taken, God knows I could not have climbed up there!

Hum... Actually my route has us heading off I15 to 20 to 89 to 12 for Bryce Canyon. It's just a little reroute to take in all of 12. DONE!

We have no accomodations booked for the North Rim. Sadly, were going to be hauling *** to make it to SW-FOG in the time we have. It'll be a couple of quick pics and dash :(

Ken, fjrrider and others coming to SW-FOG 2010 from the North: I highly recommend the North Fork Valley Restaurant in Hotchkiss, fully Los Robustos M/C Approved. Great $6 lunch!

Like fjrrider said, you can't miss out on riding CO route 92 if you're arriving in Taos from the North. Really hard to keep your eyes on the road though, with these views the entire way!!
