Which tailbag are you using??

I have a very nice NelsonRigg tailbag I used extensively on my BMW, which seemed tailor-made to be attached to the bag mounts, but can't make it work on the FJR. The bungee 'hole' which serves as the bag bottom support is too far down, and the bungee hooks on my bag are too small to fit on the grab handle, so the only way to attach it is to loop the grab handle, but that requires stretching the bungees to their max, and collapses the bag against the seat. Rather sell it and buy a new one that mess it up in one trip.

Suggestions are welcome. Just ordered a NelsonRigg tank bag, so if one of the NelsonRigg new tailbags would fit the grag handles, that would be great. But am open to any other brand; it's just that NelsonRiggs are an excellent product at a very attractive price. Thanks for your help.

I seached the web for "waterproof duffel D-rings" and found this one at Aerostich: HydraLight Zipper Duffel

I used clear packaging tape to protect the paint on the grab handles and black poly rope to tie the bag to the bike.

It worked great and the contents stayed dry even while riding in heavy rain.

You can visit a local cycle gear and take a look at them, I got one there along with a tank bag. they will be close to the same as the nelsons' I think

The tank bag can also be zipped off the base and used as a tail bag, leaving just the map holder on your tank ....

I've been very pleased with my Cortech Sport Tail Bag (https://www.newenoughhp.com/browse/view_product_images/154) It's a perfect fit on the OEM Yamaha top box mounting rack or on the pillion seat.

I use the Frank Thomas cargo bag. The main requirement was it had to hold my laptop.

It is also a tank bag, but I didn't want to mess up the tank paint. and it has shoulder straps to use as a back pack.

Very well built and it has traveled 10k miles with me. It does mess up the paint on the rail behind the passenger seat.

I have been very happy with my Elite Seat Sak from LuggageLocker.

No bungees or tiedowns. It locks to the bike with the seat.
