Which year FJR is best?

I was wondering which year of FJR would be best to consider if buying used.

I heard the early one(s) had excessive heat discharge problem. Any year(s) I should avoid or seek out?

How does the FJR compare to ST1300 or even ST1100?

The ones with the model years that start with 20xx are the best!

Generally, Gen I = more farkalable, lighter, cheaper used. Gen II = better heat management, more alternator output.

Moving to it's new home in NEPRT.

Buy a New Gen FJR: '06-'07, for the reasons Ignacio stated.

i have found that the 07 AE is the best FJR ever made..

I actually don't think the 1300 was a whole lot better than the 1100 unless you ride on the edge. I had a new '06 1300 for 9200 miles and sold it in 12 months.

I traded with a friend last Sunday (he rode my FJR and I rode his '06 ST13) and when we stopped he said, I may have made a mistake.

FJR rides better, is not as top heavy in the parking lot, and in side winds I find the FJR better. Most important was the 1300 was hot as heck above 95 F. FJR '06 and on has the best heat management of the three. I don't believe an '05 FJR I rode w/o a "heat fix" was as bad as my 1300.

I am sure it is all in one's perspective but the FJR is tops in my book.

Other than the rare and highly desirable '04, I think the '06 looks the best.
