This just came over the LD list... anyone we know? If so.... hope you're in better shape than your bike...

I mentioned that I encountered a pretty bad accident on US 191, south ofSpringerville AZ. I gave my card to the rider's friend so he could email me

and let me know how things turned out, but I haven't heard from him. I

didn't see anything on this list about he incident, so I thought I'd post a

link to a photograph of the bike incase anyone knows the guy. I only know

that he's an electrical engineer with Raytheon in Tucson AZ.
Apologies for this overly wide photo....

azbikergirl?
I don't think she's IBA...

Damn, that thing is a mess. Worse than the one that went down in TX earlier this year, maybe... I think that Raytheon connection is the key to IDing the rider. Man! I hope he/she's OK...

I'm kinda thinking not. From the crash pic I can see the intact bar end weight looks stock black and according to AZBikerGirl's ride a year ago to Bryce Canyon Clicky Here her bar-end weights look upgraded to stainless steel. I can't read the plates in those pictures, but think she's blurred them.

Working back from SS1000 records of FJR riders from AZ since June 2004:

Rusti Holguin Bullhead, AZ 03/16/05 Yamaha FJR1300 1,058

Greg Marbach Casa Grande, AZ 10/02/04 Yamaha FJR1300 1,299

Dirk A. Lehew Kingman, AZ 06/26/04 Yamaha FJR1300 1,180

Maybe one of these?

Er, that's Skooter, no?

Too, AZbiker is in the Phoenix area, IIRC. The blurb says they guy was out of Tucson...

Buddy of mine is shown on the IBA list with my hometown, not his.

Man, that doesn't look good.

Based on the lack of farkles this could be someone's brand new ride. Just cuz this rider has completed IBA rides doesn't necessarily mean those rides were completed on the FJR. Just a thought.

I am crying over here.

I am for the rider. If the rider is OK, then I am for the bike! Look at how the tank is worked like tin foil, handlebar ripped off, tail pushed up (or seat down)...

Not good, no matter how you slice it. Bike is easily replaceable - hope the rider is OK.

It appears that the rider's cut-off shirt is across the seat (I have one of those now too). That would mean he was alive when the EMS showed up. It also looks like the bike highsided into those rocks. Not good.

wow... how did that happen? sorry!

I also noticed that WC found received the image from a LD riders egroup so disregard as I'm sure he'll share info when he receives it.
