BTDT...I hope the rider was "geared up" and is safe. The pit of my stomach does that "sinking thing" when I see pictures like this. There's nothing worse than seeing someone's ride all buggered and not knowing who, what, where, and when.

And we've confirmed it's NOT Art Montoya.....unless he's changed license plates from here.
That's correct, its not me. I'm OK.

It's also not skooterg because his is an 04... that and he shot me an email today telling me about this crash.

Its not azbikergirl (although I admit to not knowing for sure) because she's farkled her bike. This one looks bone stock to me.

I do hope whoever it is came out of it OK. I'll post this on a local AZ board and see if anyone there knows.

That looks really bad....I was hoping the rider got off the bike/lowsided before it struck whatever it did...that rock face? Unfortunately, as TC pointed out, there sits the person's cut up shirt...not a good sign; even with a helmet he would be bound to have some major chest trauma.....

Maybe another clue...his riding partner/friend...that other bike way over to the right...cut off in the photo...is that a maroon ST1300? hard to tell...any AZ IBA guys on one of those?

That is not azbikergirl bike.I have a pic of her lic frame when Roger & I and it says (real girls don't ride *****)

I contacted Mr. Hall the fellow that took the picture and this was his response:

Kevin,
Here’s all I know:  The accident occurred on Friday August 5, mid-afternoon.  I arrived after the accident and after the rider had been ambulanced to Springerville AZ.  As I understood from his riding friend (on an ST1300), he was expected to be all right.  I rode with the ST-rider to Springerville and to the hospital, but when we arrived his friend was still in ER and no info was available.  I gave the ST-rider my card and headed west.  They were both from Tucson and were engineers at Raytheon.  The crash involved the FJR-rider getting stuck under an RV.  The RV-driver evidently effectively applied first aid.

Hope this helps.  And I hope he’s okay.  I haven’t heard from the ST-rider.

Ride safe,

Chris

Gods speed to whoever weathered that storm.the picture shows the road in good condition without a lot of debris.hopefully it was a slide out and the bike took the blunt on the rocks....in my prayers brother or sister

Looks bad, hoping he's OK

IIRC, there was a guy with the first name of Ken that was from AZ. He used to post on the other forum and on the fjrowners forum occasionally a couple of years back. I don't remember his last name tho.

It's standard procedure to cut the clothes off to check for injuries. Hope being stuck under an RV that it had high ground clearance. I think the horse has been broken. I am hoping no permanent injuries. TJ

Man, that tank looks like a crushed eggshell... not to mention the rest of the front end.

Hope the rider is doing ok.

That is so heartbreaking to see. I hope the rider is going to be "OK." (How "OK" can you be after a wreck that does that to your bike?!)

Thanks for the concern, everyone. It wasn't me. I can't ride much until I get that new front tire mounted -- the original is nearly bald! Hopefully this weekend...

You're right, Mr. Blue. My license plate frame would give my bike away :)

I am an electrical engineer... in Arizona... with a not-so-farkled '05 FJR... fortunately (for me), the bike in the picture is not mine.

My best wishes go to the rider of that bike.

Wow -Hope their all right whoever it is! Wonder if it was a loss of control on the turn with too much speed. Maybe with the slick road the back came out and it rolled over. Anybody know what caused it?
