Easy, Richard. Don is having a hard week- he is at work, his bike is broken. Let him have his Wild Hogs type fantasy.
See your future, Richard! :clapping:

Hey, I had fun! 300+ miles and I only had to fill the tank once!

A good day in my book! Great weather, great comraderie, twistie roads, a bit of off the beaten path (SonDog Ranch), and culinary a respite!

Thanks guys!

See ya down the road! :assassin:

Ok............. I give up where's SunDog Ranch? Do I ride on it or chew on a dog?

Our HB guy's ride yesterday through Angeles Crest, Big Tujunga, Oxnard, Pt. Magoo and Malibu was about 260 mi. Sorry no pic's, we were movin'. A small route glitch got us into Oxnard area but it turned out to be fine.

We had lunch at the Reel Inn across the street from Topanga Cyn. Most excellent grilled fresh fish. Had the blackened Tuna myself. Will go there again.

Note: SongDog Ranch is off 33 on Ballinger Canyon Road in the Cayama Valley. It is at the entrance of a 7,000 acre off road MC trails area. "Rev" the owner of Song Dog makes Rev-Pak soft luggage for motorcycles. I am not affiliated with Rev-Pak, I'm just a happy customer. We stopped on Friday's ride so I could get a new set of straps for my tail bag, and not only were they sewn while we waited, but there was No charge and free drinks! Now that's service! :fan_1:

KJ,

Thanks for the SunDog Chuckwagon info on the ride. I'm going to check out his tailbags.

I have a guy who is trying to make me one for a good FJR fit. That ride looks like just too much fun.

So....... I'm figuring you could have went West on Hwy 166 from Hwy 33 turned So. on Bull Cyn, So. on N. Suey Rd., E. Main, Philbric Rd. and returned on Foxen Cyn, Los Olivos and

Hwy 154 back into Santa Barbara. Was I anywhere near close?

Hi Larry -

I use a homemade luggage platform mounted on a GIVI Box Mount. I have 3 duffles, and "choose" the one I need appropriate to the length/self sustainabiity of the ride. You can see the Fully Loaded model (Campout mode) on my Avatar. The Sport model is the one in the Cayama Valley shot.

Your ride plan is "close" but heading west on 166, turn before Bull Cyn, on Tepesquet Cyn. It will run right into Foxen Cyn. (stay left at the Y). You miss Santa Maria, Suey Rd. E. Main, Philbric rd. etc. (these are NOT interesting and Time consuming due to stop lights.) Otherwise you are good! B)

Great pix. Thanks for posting.

We were up that way over the weekend. Took my parents to the MC museum in Solvang. We found some great roads on the way back, but it was on four wheels. Hope to head back up that way on the bikes sometime soon.

How did you find out? You know about the wine, right? We were SOOOO careful to keep it a secret. When we travel on the bikes, a good bottle of wine will be our after ride relaxation, rather than anxiety medication.

(Traveling with my parents required us to carry a secret stash of liquor in my overnight bag, then refresh it by sneaking out after the folks had gone to bed. DH and I illicitly drank wine from styrofoam cups in our hotel room, pretending to be teenagers again).
