Anyone know of good deals on tires? I need a pair for the FJR. Are the PR2's pretty much the chosen tire for most of you?

Thanks

ed

Check with Derbycycles.net I've gotten some great deals there.

This post will probably get moved since this forum area is for selling things. Try using the search format listed below and it will find what ya need.

I bought from this place last year on a tip from someone here, the price was good, and the service was great even though i changed the type or rear tire at the last minute (after I placed my order)\

https://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/28/396/10987/ITEM/Michelin-Pilot-Road-2-Rear-Tire.aspx

I paid 317 shipped for a set of front and rear PR2's, looks like they are less right now.

YMMV

Also, this time around i am going to try the cheaper C level tire since i dont often carry a passenger, the B tire is for loaded travel, something I only do 25%-40% of my mileage on. It has nothing to do with treadwear either, it's just another belt in the sidewall.

No such thing as a 'C' tire. You have either the standard PR2 rear, or the 'B' spec for two-up.

The Wheel Shop in Phoenix gives you the total price including mount & balance on the bike when you call . . .Excellent service & very fair pricing.

motorcycleusa.com has 40% off Pirelli this week. Their last newsletter also had a coupon code to enter for another 10% off, but I deleted that message. Sorry.

I was thinking about trying the Angel ST's next time...

Returning from a recent ride to B.C. I had the rear tire changed at Red Line Powercraft, a Yamaha dealer in Grande Prairie AB. and must say that they were very happy to install an in stock PR2 on the bike without an appointment. Price? $389.12

Most may know that Derby Cycles has two web sites, .net = Free Shipping and .com = No Free Shipping.

The derbycycles.net site has the PR2s for $343.12 with Free Shipping.

Clicky

The deberycycles.com site has the same tires for $239.98 plus shipping. The shipping to Seattle, WA is 37.98. Clicky

It's always a good idea to check both sites for the same item. You'll be pleasantly surprised when you do.

BTW, the .com site is not always going to be the lowest price. I just received a set of PR2s from the .net site (two weeks ago) and the total, shipped, was $235.89. This was a special they were running at the time. No issues at all this Derby Cycles...... Very satisfied.

Keep Going!

www.twobrotherstires.com in Lawrenceville, GA is a good place to order. They are bike riders and have great service. Right now a set of PR2 is $260 including shipping. That isn't the B spec. I don't think for the rear as far as I know.

Rocky Mountain didnt have any in stock 2 weeks ago. I ordered mine on Monday and had them on Wednesday. So it just depends on how bad you need them.

I have really wanted to try a set of Conti Motions. I've posted before of how I had to get a front on the road (coming back from Moonshine this yr) and it seems to be wearing pretty good - well, up until I hit that piece of something in the road on the way to NAFO.

Derby Cycles has them for 166.32 (front + rear). Shipping is coming up as $0, but I didn't "check out" so not sure on that end, but KY is not that far from Central Florida, so even if they do charge, I wouldn't think it's that much.

I sure wish someone has some history with the C-M's, but I guess I'll have to give them a try. For that price, why not? Continental is a well known name brand...
